We have identified a novel mutation within the linker L12 region of keratin 5 (K5) in a family with the Köbner variant of epidermolysis bullosa simplex. The clinicopathology of 13 cases of chondroid syringoma were examined. The ages of the patients ranged from 26 to 86 years, with an average of 48 years. There were eight males and five females.
