Epstein-Barr virus associated lymphoproliferative disease after autologous bone marrow transplantation (ABMT) has rarely been reported. We report a case of B-cell lymphoma following ABMT for T-acute lymphoblastic leukaemia; bone marrow was purged in vitro with monoclonal antibodies to remove T cells. Immunoglobulin and T-cell receptor gene rearrangement studies were used to demonstrate clonality and to show that this patient developed a second neoplasm after ABMT. EBV proteins and genome (type A) were present in post-transplantation lymphoma, suggesting a causative role in its development.

Using techniques of stereology, we estimated the relative volume of periductal elastic tissue in 60 infiltrating ductal carcinomas of the breast. A case of choroid plexus neoplasm histologically composed of tubular structures lined by a layer of cuboidal epithelium is reported. The neoplasm was located in the fourth ventricle of a 26-year-old man. The intense positivity for antisera anti-vimentin, anti-cytokeratin, anti-EMA and anti-S100 protein exhibited by these cells was consistent with choroid plexus origin. The patient is alive and in good health 5 years after surgery. The lesion represents a benign choroid plexus neoplasm not previously reported. The name "tubular adenoma of choroid plexus" is suggested for this variant.

In this retrospective study, we describe the clinicopathologic and immunohistochemical findings in a series of primary central nervous system (CNS) neoplasms in African hedgehogs ( Atelerix albiventris). Twelve CNS neoplasms were found among 762 African hedgehog submissions (1.6%) to a private diagnostic laboratory in an 18-y period. The median age of affected hedgehogs was 3.5 y.
