Path Analysis of Factors Influencing Job Satisfaction Among Clinical Nurse Managers: A Cross-Sectional Study.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Clinical nurse managers play a critical bridging role between hospital administration and frontline nursing staff, yet their job satisfaction remains understudied, particularly in Chinese healthcare contexts. Existing research often examines work stress and organizational support in isolation, overlooking their interrelationships. This study aimed to investigate the current status of job stress, job satisfaction, and perceived organizational support (POS) among clinical nurse managers, and to examine the mediating role of POS in the relationship between job stress and job

Head Nurse Digital Leadership and Staff Nurse-GenAI Collaboration in Chinese Hospitals: The Mediating Role of Digital Self-Efficacy and the Moderating Role of Nurse Perceived Job Autonomy.

AIMS: To examine how head nurse digital leadership is associated with staff nurse-generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) collaboration, specifically exploring the mediating role of digital self-efficacy and the moderating role of nurse perceived job autonomy. BACKGROUND: GenAI is shifting nursing practice from solo task execution to active nurse-AI collaboration. While digital leadership is theorised to facilitate this transition, the specific mechanisms and boundary conditions, particularly in the context of Chinese tertiary hospitals, remain insufficiently explored. METHODS: A time-lag

This mixed-methods study describes the distribution of the surgical and anesthesia workforce and qualitatively explores how such workforce and other factors influence rural hospitals' provision of surgical services. METHODS: We calculated provider counts by county from the Area Health Resource File. Using American Hospital Association survey data, we sampled rural hospitals, stratified by critical access status and state policies. We conducted qualitative semistructured interviews with administrators at 16 hospit

Influence of workplace incivility on the quality of nursing care.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To examine the influence of workplace incivility on the quality of nursing care. BACKGROUND: Recent evidence describes workplace incivility as a serious concern in the healthcare setting worldwide. Exposure to workplace incivility can alter a nurse's behaviour, thought process and perspective towards the nursing profession. However, there is insufficient evidence to determine whether workplace incivility might be associated with the quality of nursing care in Saudi Arabia. DESIGN: A quantitative and cross-sectional study. METHOD: A survey was carried out amongst 378 nur

The Role of a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Led Acute Pain Service in Preventing Persistent Postoperative Opioid Use.

Given the present opioid crisis, the use of opioids in the hospital setting is an increasing concern among hospital administrators and healthcare professionals. A serious problem related to surgical care is persistent postoperative opioid use among previously opioid-naïve patients. Certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) are strategically positioned within the hospital setting to address these concerns. These individuals are actively involved in managing the pain of their patients and can therefore lead change in relation to the opioid crisis. This article profiles a multidisciplinary

Delivering heart failure disease management in 3 tertiary care centers: key clinical components and venues of care.

BACKGROUND: Little data exist to assist to help those organizing and managing heart failure (HF) disease management (DM) programs. We aimed to describe the intensity of outpatient HF care (clinic visits and telephone calls) and medical and nonpharmacological interventions in the outpatient setting. METHODS: This was a prospective substudy of 130 patients enrolled in STARBRITE in HFDM programs at 3 centers. Follow-up occurred 10, 30, 60, 90, and 120 days after discharge. The number of clinic visits and calls made by HF cardiologists, nurse practitioners, and nurses were prospectively tracked.

Burnout combating strategies, triggers, implications, and self-coping mechanisms among nurses working in Saudi Arabia: a multicenter, mixed methods study.

BACKGROUND: The World Health Organization (WHO) has defined burnout as an occupational phenomenon resulting from unsuccessfully managed chronic workplace stress. The well-being of healthcare professionals is the foundation for the health of patients and organizations. In Saudi Arabia, nursing plays a pivotal role in the healthcare sector, with both local and expatriate nurses taking part in various clinical and high-pressure services. However, rapid growth in healthcare facilities, staff shortages, and patient loads are adversely impacting stress levels among nurses. METHODS: This study used

Media discourse on physician assistant nurses in South Korea: a text network and topic modeling approach.

PURPOSE: This study quantitatively examined the portrayal of physician assistant (PA) nurses in Korean media by integrating text network analysis with latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) topic modeling. METHODS: A total of 3,564 news articles published by nine major Korean media outlets between 2020 and 2024 were analyzed. Content analysis was conducted using term frequency-inverse document frequency calculations, network centrality analysis, and LDA topic modeling to extract key terms, map discourse structures, and identify latent topics. RESULTS: The analysis identified four primary topics i

Multi-level barriers and facilitators to implementing tobacco screening and cessation counseling in a Federally Qualified Health Center.

BACKGROUND: Despite persistent tobacco control efforts, the prevalence of smoking, especially among low-income populations, remains high. The prevalence of tobacco use among the primarily low-income populations served by Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), is approximately 5 percentage points higher than the national average. Evidence based interventions such as clinician delivered tobacco cessation counseling are brief and effective, however, providers are often faced with various barriers that impede their ability to offer tobacco related counseling consistently. The purpose of this

Medical errors among nurses: understanding the impact of work-family conflict and burnout.

Medical errors remained a persistent challenge to patient safety and healthcare quality worldwide. This study examined the psychological predictors and underlying mechanisms associated with medical errors among nurses, focusing specifically on the effects of work-family conflict, work interference with family (WIF) and family interference with work (FIW), and the mediating role of burnout. A cross-sectional survey design was employed. Participants were 251 nurses (81 men, 170 women) working in public hospitals in Ondo State, Nigeria, aged between 31 and 52 years (M = 41.28, SD = 6.31). Using Ambient Assisted Living to Monitor Older Adults With Alzheimer Disease: Single-Case Study to Validate the Monitoring Report.

BACKGROUND: Many older adults choose to live independently in their homes for as long as possible, despite psychosocial and medical conditions that compromise their independence in daily living and safety. Faced with unprecedented challenges in allocating resources, home care administrators are increasingly open to using monitoring technologies known as ambient assisted living (AAL) to better support care recipients. To be effective, these technologies should be able to report clinically relevant changes to support decision making at an individual level. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to

Advanced practice: a model for neonatal/perinatal and women/child nursing.

Collaboration between service and academia has often been disparate. A new model of cooperation was designed in the Fall of 1992 by faculty at the University of Connecticut School of Nursing and nurse administrators at John Dempsey Hospital of the University of Connecticut Health Center. A combined effort was undertaken to expeditiously prepare, at the graduate level, acute care nurse practitioners in Critical Care and Neonatal/Perinatal Nursing. The impetus for the collaborative effort was due in part to: reduced medical residency hours for patient coverage; limited access by patients to care
