A follow-up study of growth and development was conducted on 216 Barbadian children aged 9 to 15 yr, half of whom had histories of moderate to severe protein-energy malnutrition in their 1st yr of life. Background Turner Syndrome (TS) is a frequently identified chromosomal disease in humans characterized by short stature, sexual infantilism, streak gonads, primary amenorrhea, and a number of somatic anomalies. OBJECTIVE: 17α-Hydroxylase deficiency (P450c17D) is characterized by hypogonadism and mineralocorticoid hypertension. We aimed to estimate the relative incidence and spectrum of preliminary misdiagnoses in Brazilian P450c17D patients.

To determine attitudes and practices regarding sexual relations during menstruation and vaginal spotting, a cross-sectional descriptive survey was performed at the Instituto de Investigaciones Materno Infantil, Universidad de Chile, Santiago, Chile. A total of 287 women and 206 men were randomly selected from an urban population. Attitudes, beliefs, and practices regarding sexual relations during vaginal bleeding were surveyed and stratified by educational level and other demographic characteristics. Overall, 70% of women and 72% of men were found to avoid sexual relations during menstruation.

Molluscum contagiosum is a viral infection of the skin and mucous membranes that is caused by infection with the molluscum contagiosum virus. Molluscum contagiosum can be acquired from skin to skin contact which may be during play, in a swimming pool, or through sexual contact. Sexually acquired molluscum is rare in younger children, but becomes quite common during adolescence and young adulthood, after the sexual debut. It has been long known that the human papillomavirus, which causes genital warts, i.e., condyloma accuminatum, can be vertically transmitted through an infected genital tract.
