The Korean list of occupational skin diseases was amended in July 2013. The past list was constructed according to the causative agent and the target organ, and the items of that list had not been reviewed for a long period. The revised list was reconstructed to include diseases classified by the International Classification of Diseases (10th version). Antibiotics are used for systemic and topical skin diseases treatment, taking advantage of their antiseptic, bacteriostatic and also their anti-inflammatory and immunomodulating properties. Skin irritations in conjunction with renal disorders are often specific. Therefore a close inspection of the integument may point to an internal organ pathology. A selection of hereditary syndromes and a summary table are shown including acquired diseases displaying symptoms of the skin and the kidneys. A special emphasis is laid on specific and unspecific skin alterations under chronic renal failure. Instead of a detailed list of therapeutic possibilities, priority is given to the exact description of macroscopic and microscopic skin alterations including pathophysiologic mechanisms.

Evaluation of anogenital lesions in children is a challenging problem. The differential diagnosis includes a spectrum of traumatic, infectious, neoplastic, and genetic disorders. The possibility of sexual abuse should always be considered and investigated as indicated. A systematic work-up will expedite the correct diagnosis and limit unnecessary anxiety for parents, children, and physicians. Referral to a center that provides specialized service for the evaluation and treatment of these disorders may be indicated.

Hepatobiliary disease is often associated with cutaneous manifestations. The pathogenesis is not always clear. Apart from porphyria cutanea tarda, the cutaneous manifestations are not specific.
