CWT Based Transfer Learning for Motor Imagery Classification for Brain computer Interfaces.

BACKGROUND: The processing of brain signals for Motor imagery (MI) classification to have better accuracy is a key issue in the Brain-Computer Interface (BCI). While conventional methods like Artificial neural network (ANN), Linear discernment analysis (LDA), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Support vector machine (SVM), etc. have made significant progress in terms of classification accuracy, deep transfer learning-based systems have shown the potential to outperform them. BCI can play a vital role in enabling communication with the external world for persons with motor disabilities. NEW METHODS: De

Harnessing confinement effect and interpretable machine learning to predict alkane diffusion in zeolite catalysts.

Diffusion within zeolites is a critical determinant of their performance in catalysis and separations. Nevertheless, mechanistic insights remain largely system-specific, and a universal framework connecting topological features to diffusion properties is still lacking. Here, we address this challenge by combining high-throughput molecular simulations across approximately 100,000 zeolitic frameworks from the database of zeolite structures with interpretable machine learning. Guided by confinement-diffusion mechanisms, we propose a set of topology-informed descriptors (including tortuosity and c

Источник пометил публикацию как отозванную

Chest X-ray (CXR) imaging is one of the most widely used and economical tests to diagnose a wide range of diseases. However, even for expert radiologists, it is a challenge to accurately diagnose diseases from CXR samples. Furthermore, there remains an acute shortage of trained radiologists worldwide. In the present study, a range of machine learning (ML), deep learning (DL), and transfer learning (TL) approaches have been evaluated to classify diseases in an openly available CXR image dataset. A combination of the synthetic minority over-sampling technique (SMOTE) and weighted class balancing

Combining machine learning and iterative experiments to keep pace with emerging viral variants of concern.

Modeling and predicting viral mutations before they emerge plays a crucial role in pandemic preparedness, enabling the early identification of emerging variants of concern (VOCs) and guiding timely updates to vaccines, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic strategies. However, existing machine learning models and large-scale experiments lose their predictive power as viral variants evolve further from the original strains in sequence space. Here, we present a scalable framework that integrates random forest and neural network machine learning models with targeted high-throughput experimentation to

Dual-mode detection of tetracyclines in animal-derived food samples based on MOF-on-MOF heterostructure fluorescent sensor coupled with machine learning algorithms.

Tetracyclines (TCs) that accumulate in food enter the human body through the food chain, leading to drug resistance and health risks. This study synthesized a heterostructure fluorescent sensor, Zn-TCPP-MOF/NH2-MIL-53(Al) (abbreviated ZTA) for TCs detection. A dual-mode detection system was established by integrating fluorescence spectroscopy with machine learning algorithms and fluorescence imaging with YOLOv5, enabling precise detection of TCs. The π-π stacking reduced ZTA electron density to promote electron transfer, inducing specific recognition of TCs with a low detection limit of 0.012

A Machine Learning Model to Predict Complications Following Head and Neck Microvascular Surgery.

OBJECTIVES: Microvascular free tissue transfer is the primary reconstructive method in patients with complex defects of the head and neck. Defect site complications vary; incidence ranges from 15% to 70%. The use of machine learning via mutual information analysis has recently been described in the context of head and neck cancer, but this does not distinguish between causal relationships. The current study explores the first causal machine learning model to predict surgical outcomes in patients undergoing head and neck microvascular reconstruction. METHODS: A retrospective chart review was c

Toxicity prediction and classification of Gunqile-7 with small sample based on transfer learning method.

Drug-induced diseases are the most important component of iatrogenic disease. It is the duty of doctors to provide a reasonable and safe dose of medication. Gunqile-7 is a Mongolian medicine with analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects. As a foreign substance in the body, even with reasonable medication, it may produce varying degrees of adverse reactions or toxic side effects. Since the cost of collecting Gunqile-7 for pharmacological animal trials is high and the data sample is small, this paper employs transfer learning and data augmentation methods to study the toxicity of Gunqile-7. Dual-Site Photocatalysts for Selective CO2 to C2+ Conversion: Pathway Regulation and Machine Learning Guided Design.

Photocatalytic CO2 reduction to C2+ products is an attractive route for solar to chemical conversion, yet its development is still limited by inefficient charge utilization, sluggish C─C coupling, competing C1 pathways, and the complex adsorption behavior of carbonaceous intermediates. These challenges become more difficult in dual-site photocatalysts, where metal combinations, coordination structures, intersite distances, support effects, and reaction conditions jointly influence CO2 activation, intermediate evolution, and product selectivity. Machine learning offers a practical way to deal w

Evaluation of Machine Learning Classification Models for False-Positive Reduction in Prostate Cancer Detection Using MRI Data.

In this work, several machine learning (ML) algorithms, both classical ML and modern deep learning, were investigated for their ability to improve the performance of a pipeline for the segmentation and classification of prostate lesions using MRI data. The algorithms were used to perform a binary classification of benign and malignant tissue visible in MRI sequences. The model choices include support vector machines (SVMs), random decision forests (RDFs), and multi-layer perceptrons (MLPs), along with radiomic features that are reduced by applying PCA or mRMR feature selection. Modern CNN-base

Sepsis remains a critical challenge due to its high mortality and complex prognosis. To address data limitations in studying MSSA sepsis, we extend existing transfer learning frameworks to accommodate transformation models for high-dimensional survival data. Specifically, we construct a measurement index based on the C-index for intelligently identifying the helpful source datasets, and the target model performance is improved by leveraging information from the identified source datasets via performing the transfer step and debiasing step. Another significant development is that statistical pr
