We report a case of acute transient myopia associated with ciliochoroidal effusion induced by anorexiants. The patient had had myopic laser in situ keratomileusis 7 years earlier. We report the case of a 32-year-old male with spontaneous crystalline lens dislocation into the anterior chamber with corneal touch and increased intraocular pressure. The case was handled in a conservative way: before bringing the patient to supine position, pharmacological pupil dilation with tropicamide plus phenylephrine was performed. One drop was instilled every 15 min for 1 hour. Once the posterior displacement of the lens behind the iris was confirmed, 2 % pilocarpine was used to reverse pupil dilation. The patient remained on topical 2 % pilocarpine and 5 % sodium chloride solution.

In order to normalize the condition of pseudomyopia, the following can be summarized: One percent cyclopentolate was effective in 63%, and 0.4% tropicamide was effective in 59% of the cases. With a value of 68% after labetalol eye drops there were no significant differences in efficacy between this drug and the above cycloplegics. PURPOSE: Mydriasert is an insoluble ophthalmic insert, gradually releasing two well-known active ingredients: phenylephrine and tropicamide. It is indicated in presurgical mydriasis. The purpose was to evaluate its efficacy in obtaining mydriasis required for fluorescein angiography.

PURPOSE: To report a rare case of true exfoliation of the lens capsule following panuveitis, with slit-lamp photographs before and following the development of the true exfoliation.
METHODS: Case report. Review of the history and clinical features of a 70-year-old woman who developed true exfoliation during the treatment for panuveitis.
RESULTS: After 7 months of treatment for bilateral panuveitis with topical steroid and tropicamide, the patient developed a thin, transparent membrane arising on the lens surface in the right eye. A diagnosis of true exfoliation of the lens capsule was made.
