A 65-year-old male having a painless ulcer in the perianal region for last 11 months reported with severe pain in the ulcer for last 5 days and found that worms were crawling out of the ulcer since two days. He was diagnosed as a case of squamous cell carcinoma of the perianal region with human myiasis. The treatment consisted of manual removal of the larvae by topical application of turpentine oil, oral therapy with antibiotics and surgical excision of the ulcerative growth.

A new isolation procedure of rat C-reactive protein (CRP) by affinity chromatography on amino-coupled phosphorylcolamine-Sepharose is described. CRP serum level of rats injured by turpentine injection or two different arthritis models was determined to test the potency of this protein as an marker of inflammation. The influence of repeated administration of carbon tetrachloride as a hepatotoxic agent was investigated in the same way. It was shown that CRP determination is a useful method to observe the course of experimental inflammations and other tissue injuries as well.

Myiasis is the infestation of human beings with fly larvae which feed on host's living or dead tissue. Diagnosis of this condition is made by the presence of larvae in affected body parts. The standard treatment is the mechanical removal of the maggots from the lesion and management of the general systemic condition. This paper report a case of myiasis at the chin region in a 45-year-old male managed by manual removal of larvae after topical application of turpentine oil, surgical debridement of necrotic tissues and antimicrobial therapy.

The influence exerted by a number of non-steroid antiphlogistic agents on the fermentative mechanism responsible for the formation and decomposition of kininines in an inflammation focus and on the permeability of vessels in a skin changed under the effect of exogenous bradykininine was studied. Oral Myiasis is a rare disease that is mostly reported in developing countries. It is primarily caused by the invasion of the human body by fly larvae. The phenomenon is well-documented in the skin, especially among animals. This case report describes the presentation of Oral Myiasis caused by Musca Nebulo (common house fly), in a 28-year-old patient, with recent maxillofacial trauma. The patient was treated by manual removal of the larvae, after topical application of turpentine oil, followed by surgical debridement and oral therapy with Ivermectin.

An 80-year-old farmer, presented with large, maggot infested ulceration involving the medial part of the right upper lid. The left eye was phthisical. There was history of untreated traumatic laceration of the right upper lid. Mechanical removal of maggots was done under turpentine coverage with regular antibiotic dressing.
