Puerperal inversion of uterus is a catastrophic and a rare complication, which occurs during the third stage of labour. PURPOSE: Obstetric uterine inversion is a rare and life-threatening complication. Diagnosis is often difficult to establish, particularly in recurrent or chronic cases.

We report a case of 28-year-old, primipara who presented with complaints of mass descending per vaginum along with excessive bleeding and foul smelling vaginal discharge for the past six months. An unusual case of non-puerperal uterine inversion is presented. The patient, a 37 year old multipara who had been earlier diagnosed with uterine fibroids, subsequently developed a protrusion from the vagina having declined surgery. The authors report the unusual case of spontaneous inversion of the uterus that occurred three days after a normal delivery. Clinically this was very well tolerated.
