PURPOSE: Cryptorchidism is one of the most common pediatric disorders of the male endocrine glands and the most common genital disorder identified at birth. This guideline is intended to provide physicians and non-physician providers (primary care and specialists) with a consensus of principles and treatment plans for the management of cryptorchidism (typically isolated non-syndromic).

Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunts are the operations of choice for patients with hydrocephalus in most pediatric hospitals. PURPOSE: The relationship between congenital abdominal wall defects (AWDs) and undescended testes (UDTs) is poorly defined. We report a study of infants with AWD and UDT.
METHODS: Hospital records of newborns with AWD managed during 1998 to 2008 were reviewed. Data analyzed included nature of AWD, position of the testes at birth, final position of the testes, and surgical management.

Laparoscopic orchidopexy has become the routine tool in managing abdominal testes. Many techniques have been used to deliver the dissected testis to the scrotal position; a trans-scrotal port is one of them. Necrotizing soft tissue infection of the perineum, or Fournier's gangrene (FG), is a morbid and mortal diagnosis. Despite the severity of FG, the optimal definitive wound closure strategy is unknown, as are long-term wound outcomes. INTRODUCTION: Undescended testis or cryptorchidism is detected in 3% of full-term male newborns, and inup to 33% of preemies. As the testicular descent may sometimes resolve spontaneously during first months of life, cryptorchidism is found in 1% of boys one year old.
