This work describes a dynamic model of the low back that incorporates extensive anatomical detail of the musculo-ligamentous-skeletal system to predict the load time histories of individual tissues. The dynamic reaction moment about L4/L5 was determined during lateral bending from a linked-segment model. Many adults with intellectual disabilities (ID) have spasticity, where increased muscle tone impairs activities of daily living (ADL) self-performance and care delivery. There are few reports of spasticity treatment for people with ID, and none of functionally meaningful outcomes. A refined battery of neurological tests, SNAP (Simple Neuroassessment of Asymmetric Impairment), was developed and validated to efficiently assess neurological deficits induced in a mouse model of traumatic brain injury. We describe and present a videotape of a 57-year-old woman admitted to our Neurological Clinic at 46 years of age due to extrapyramidal manifestations suggesting Parkinson's disease (PD) and with a brain magnetic resonance imaging scan showing multi-infarctual leukoencephalopathy. Various investigations led to the diagnosis of Anderson Fabry's disease (AFD). We discuss the possibility of correlation between the patient's parkinsonism and AFD.

Arytenoid cartilage dislocation is an infrequently diagnosed cause of vocal fold immobility. Seventy-four cases have been reported in the literature to date.
