This study compared performance of 15- to 17-month-old Ts65Dn mice to that of littermate controls on an automated sustained attention task in which the location, onset time, and duration of brief visual cues varied unpredictably. The increased diagnostic usefulness of multiplane over biplane transesophageal echocardiography has not yet been conclusively determined. In this study the diagnostic yield of multiplanar and biplanar imaging was compared blindly by using the information content obtained from multiplane transesophageal echocardiography to that derived from biplanar type of imaging planes available in the multiplane echocardiography recordings in 80 patients with a variety of cardiac disorders. Among these patients 9 new abnormalities were identified by multiplane transesophageal echocardiography in 8 patients.

We studied the effects of chewing nicotine gum on tic frequency and severity in 10 patients with Tourette's disorder (TD) on haloperidol, versus 9 untreated TD patients; placebo gum was administered to 5 of these untreated patients. PROCEDURES: Each veterinarian was observed and videotaped during 2 bovine reproductive examination appointments. During each appointment, a force-matching protocol was used to estimate the entry force used by the veterinarian to insert an arm into a cow's rectum. OBJECTIVE: A history of childhood maltreatment (CM) is associated with increased rates of maternal psychiatric symptoms and other adverse outcomes in adulthood among postpartum women. However, to date only a few studies have examined associations between CM and mother-child interactions among a nonclinical sample of postpartum women, and the specific potential influence of the type of abuse or neglect is poorly understood. This study was an aim to examine the relationships between CM types and observed parenting in a nonclinical group of recently postpartum mothers with maltreatment histories.
