Silicon quantum dots (Si-QDs), a novel class of nanomaterials, display adjustable optical characteristics due to quantum confinement effects, making them promising photocatalysts and reactive species for organic transformations. In this research, five distinct small donor molecules (designated as ACR-TPA-X1, ACR-TPA-X2, ACR-TPA-X3, ACR-TPA-X4, ACR-TPA-X5) are constructed by replacing the methoxy groups on both sides of the model molecule (ACR-TPA-R) with thiophene bridged acceptor moieties. Colorectal cancer (CRC) becomes highly lethal upon progression to advanced or metastatic stages. Treatment options are particularly limited for refractory metastatic CRC (mCRC) harboring KRAS mutations. In this study, we established a series of patient-derived organoids (PDOs) and patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) from mCRC patients to identify effective therapeutic compounds.
