Effect of acupuncture stimulation on trigger points in patients with lumbar back myofasciitis: a protocol for a single-centre, randomised, controlled clinical trial.

INTRODUCTION: Lumbar back myofasciitis (LBM) is a common condition caused by cold exposure, lumbar injuries or poor posture, leading to aseptic inflammation, fibrosis and chronic pain. While acupuncture stimulation of trigger points is widely used, clinical evidence supporting its efficacy remains limited. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of acupuncture stimulation of trigger points in the treatment of LBM and to explore the underlying analgesic mechanisms. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: This single-centre randomised controlled trial will be conducted at Acupuncture and Moxibus

Modulation of immune responses by acupuncture at Jing-Well points in neurological disorders: exploring mechanisms and clinical applications in the era of modern electrophysiology.

BACKGROUND: Neurological disorders are increasingly recognized as complex conditions involving extensive neuroimmune dysregulation, chronic inflammation, oxidative stress, autonomic imbalance, and progressive neuronal injury. Emerging evidence suggests that acupuncture, including stimulation at Jing-Well points, may exert immunomodulatory and neuromodulatory effects through interactions with peripheral sensory pathways, autonomic networks, inflammatory signaling cascades, and central nervous system electrophysiology. Recent advances in neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and molecular neuroscienc

Anatomical relevance of some acupuncture points in the head and neck region that dictate medical or dental application depending on depth of needle insertion.

Many of the acupuncture points on the face, according to classic acupuncture textbooks, could be used to treat facial pain, paralysis, and toothache. But it is not specified which acupuncture point would be effective for which tooth. Many of these points, when used for the treatment of dental pain, often fail. From an anatomical point of view, we describe which acupuncture point to use for each specific area for effective treatment of dental pain. Also, we emphasize the importance of the depth of needle insertion, especially the necessity to touch the facial bone, for effective pain treatment.
