Cutaneous leishmaniasis is a protozoal disease transmitted by sandflies. It is endemic across the desert of the Middle East to Afghanistan and Africa. This paper reviews the findings in 148 expatriates with cutaneous leishmaniasis seen in Arar, northern Saudi Arabia, during a five year period. Cutaneous leishmaniasis was seen in all age groups. Farm workers, labourers and military personnel stationed in the region during the Gulf war were most affected. There was a seasonal variation with maximum incidence between November and January. Forty-three patients with carcinoma of the oesophagus are presented, 30 of whom were male and 13 female, with ages ranging from 42 to 88 years. Mean duration of symptoms was 4.6 months. Of patients, 65.2% were in stage III and 30.2% in stage IIA. Stages I and IV were encountered in one patient each. Twenty-five were Saudis and 14 non-Saudis. Of the Saudi patients, 64.3% were from the Qaseem region. 48.8% had subtotal oesophagectomy with neck anastomosis and 51.2% had limited oesophagectomy with intrathoracic anastomosis. The carotid angiographic studies performed in a teaching hospital (King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh) in Saudi Arabia were reviewed, and the incidence of lesions demonstrated was analysed. Intracranial tumours accounted for 50% of the lesions, with meningiomas being 40%, whilst arteriovenous malformations accounted for 5.9% of lesions. The pattern of headache syndromes in 222 subjects (142 Saudi nationals, 80 non-Saudis) seen at Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia is presented. Headaches were common, and accounted for 13% of all neurological outpatients. They affected mainly young adults, with a peak frequency in the third decade for Saudis and the fourth for non-Saudis. They were rare in those under 10 and above 50 years old. Among Saudis, females outnumbered non-Saudi males were more frequent than females in all age groups except the second decade. AIM: Our study aims to produce an estimation of the keratoconus disease epidemiology and important demographic factors in disease presentation in Najran city in the south of Saudi Arabia.
METHODS: Keratoconus patients between 9 and 29 years of age at the eye clinic of King Khaled General Hospital in Najran Province with a confirmed diagnosis of keratoconus were recruited over one year period. A more than 500% increase in the number of deaths involving methamphetamine occurred between 2016 and 2018 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. As such, this report employed a validated liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method to quantify methamphetamine and its metabolites in bodily fluids from 47 postmortem cases in which methamphetamine was involved. BACKGROUND: Peeling skin syndrome (PSS) is a rare genodermatoses of probable autosomal recessive inheritance. In Saudi Arabia, consanguinity of parents is common and consequently the occurrence of familial disease, including that of the skin, is not uncommon.
METHODS: To characterize the clinical and pathological features of PSS in Saudi Arabia, we reviewed the medical records and clinical photographs of patients with recurring blistering diseases and conducted a histopathologic evaluation of skin biopsies to identify the site of cleavage.

Despite a high prevalence of asthma in Saudi Arabia, allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA) has not been reported. We reviewed the medical records in a large university hospital in Saudi Arabia where thousands of asthmatics are being followed up.
