Three patients with psoas abscess secondary to Crohn's diseases are reported with the aim of discussing the diagnosis and surgical management of these patients. It is concluded that computerized tomography is the method of choice for the diagnosis and follow up of this complication. Surgery should be individualized but in stable patients abscess drainage should be attempted in addition to resection of the intestine involved. Finally, given the great risk of pulmonary thromboembolism in these patients, intensive prophylactic anticoagulant therapy is required.

We report 4 cases of subclavian vein stenosis after hemodialysis occurring in 4 women with a mean age of 36 years. The duration of subclavian catheterization was 1 to 11 months. The diagnosis was established by angiography or phlebography. PATIENTS: One hundred patients consecutively operated on for suspected primary hyperparathyroidism. Patients were available for follow-up 1 month (n = 100) and 1 year (n = 96) after surgery.

Twenty-six of 95 adults treated for tuberculous spondylitis, between 1982 and 1993, underwent surgery. Twenty-one exhibited neurological deficits: radicular deficits: 4, and progressive spinal cord syndromes: 17 (incomplete, 13, complete, of acute onset: 4). METHODS: This descriptive, relationship-seeking study was conducted with 302 people aged over 65 years.
