CASE: We present the case of a patient who developed scaphoid avascular necrosis in the setting of scaphoid hypoplasia, 37 years after an index finger repositioning for thumb agenesis, due to Holt-Oram syndrome.
CONCLUSION: To the best of our knowledge, this is a unique case of scaphoid avascular necrosis in a patient with Holt-Oram syndrome with scaphoid hypoplasia who underwent index finger repositioning 37 years earlier. Her wrist pain was successfully treated with scaphoid excision and intercarpal fusion.

Radical sequestr- and necrectomy followed by skin, bone or skin-bone autoplasty on the vascular pedicle with microvascular anastomoses between the autotransplant vessels and those of the extremity was successfully fulfilled in 16 patients with defects of tubular bones and false joints complicated by chronic osteomyelitis. The lunate foveola is often the starting point of a cystic swelling called a "ganglion". To make the anatomy of this region more relevant to the needs of clinicians and more accessible to students, we propose to introduce the term lunate foveola (Foveola lunata) on the dorsal side of the wrist just distal to the os lunatum. The easily located foveola will help in the examination of the wrist to more easily understand the anatomy of the wrist and facilitate the examination of patients with wrist injuries when an injury to the lunate (Os lunatum) is suspected.

Convolutional neural networks (CNNs) trained to identify abnormalities on upper extremity radiographs achieved an AUC of 0.844 with a frequent emphasis on radiograph laterality and/or technologist labels for decision-making. Covering the labels increased the AUC to 0.857 (p = .02) and redirected CNN attention from the labels to the bones. Using images of radiograph labels alone, the AUC was 0.638, indicating that radiograph labels are associated with abnormal examinations. Potential radiographic confounding features should be considered when curating data for radiology CNN development.

Many children who roller skate sustain injuries. To determine the type and severity of these mishaps, the medical records of 76 children less than 16 years of age with roller skating injuries presenting to two pediatric emergency departments were reviewed. Short stature is a well-recognized component of Down syndrome. The femur lengths of affected fetuses have been observed to be shorter than normal, with a ratio of actual to expected femur length of less than 0.91 indicating a high risk of trisomy. To further evaluate this finding we have determined the relationship between limb lengths and gestational age in 37 postmortem fetal specimens with trisomy 21.
