Objectives The pediatric dentigerous cysts might vary by region and population group. Large cystic lesions are typically treated with marsupialization before enucleation in order to decompress the lesion and reduce its volume; however, in pediatric cystic lesions, conservative marsupialization and decompression can be used to manage the condition without additional enucleation. The current study's objectives were to present a case series of pediatric dentigerous cysts and discuss the conservative management of these cystic lesions associated with mixed dentition. Methods A retrospective cohort

INTRODUCTION: Mesial drifting of molar teeth in maxillary arch is corrected by movement of the molars distally. In addition to traditional distal movement techniques, such as extraoral force application and removable appliances, various intra-arch devices have been introduced since 1980s. These intra-arch appliances have nearly eliminated the need for patient cooperation.
CASE REPORT: The purpose of this paper is to report a case of 10-year-old male patient with loss of space in maxillary molar teeth treated by intra-arch appliance-pendulum appliance by distalization of maxillary first perman

The purpose of the present study was to find the factors that affect the alignment of the upper permanent lateral incisors in early mixed dentition. The materials, consisting of dental casts and lateral cephalograms which were taken from 30 children (15 males and 15 females) who had normal occlusion in deciduous dentition and normal permanent central incisor relationship, were divided into three groups, according to the bilateral symmetry alignment of the upper permanent lateral incisors (Group A: Normal alignment, Group B: Linguoversion, Group C: Mesiolinguotorsiversion). BACKGROUND: Malocclusion is a common anomaly and is frequently observed in children and adults. Early detection and treatment of malocclusion is necessary to prevent and minimize complications. Therefore, developing a tool to check dentition at an early stage and motivate patients themselves to visit the dentist is required.
OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to examine the feasibility of building an AI model that can detect malocclusion in children during the mixed dentition stage.
METHODS: This study was conducted as a feasibility study using cross-sectional data. Subjects were recruited from pan

Turner syndrome is associated with an X chromosome abnormality in women and is characterized by infantilism, congenital webbed neck, and cubitus valgus. The aim of this study was to determine the maxillofacial morphology and oral characteristics of Japanese girls (mean age, 8.5 years) with Turner syndrome and early mixed dentition. Lateral cephalograms obtained at the first visit were used to analyze maxillofacial morphology. Oral characteristics were identified using orthopantomograms, intraoral photographs, and study casts. All patients received growth hormone. Lateral cephalograms showed a

The effect of deciduous tooth extraction in the late mixed dentition on the eruption of succedaneous teeth was studied in ten Macaca nemestrina. Nineteen deciduous teeth were extracted: nine maxillary and ten mandibular left deciduous first molars. Regardless of sex, arch, chronologic or dental age, all first premolars on the experimental side erupted before those on the control side and this pattern was statistically significant. Extraction of deciduous molars in the late mixed dentition is seen to accelerate eruption of first premolars in Macaca nemestrina. This could be the result of elimin

AIM: The objective of this study was to assess whether maxillary expansion in the early mixed dentition in cases exhibiting anterior crowding leads to the spontaneous correction of anterior crowding.
METHODS: Thirty-seven patients were included in this retrospective cohort study. The included patients had anterior crowding of ≥ 4 mm between the upper deciduous canines or Little's index of ≥ 3 mm. All patients were treated in the early mixed dentition with RME. Pre- and post-treatment study casts were analyzed. The PAR score was assessed.
CONCLUSION: Treatment limited to RME in the early mixe
