BACKGROUND: Dermatitis herpetiformis (DH) is typically characterized by granular IgA deposition in the papillary dermis on direct immunofluorescence (DIF), and linear IgA bullous dermatosis (LABD) is characterized by linear deposition of IgA along the basement membrane.
