Abdominal ectopic pregnancy is an uncommon form of ectopic pregnancy with few cases reported in Nigeria. We present a case report of abdominal ectopic pregnancy with haemoperitoneum in an unbooked multipara at advanced gestational age. She subsequently had an emergency exploratory laparotomy and right salpingectomy. Diagnosis of this condition can be challenging due to non-specific clinical symptoms, while definitive management can also pose a challenge due to the site of placental attachment.

PURPOSE: Although small for gestational age (SGA) does not cause adverse perinatal outcomes, the placental pathology for fetal growth restricted (FGR) and SGA fetuses is still unknown. The aim of this study is to evaluate the differences between placentas of early onset FGR, late onset FGR, SGA, and appropriate for gestational age (AGA) pregnancies in the manner of microvasculature and expression of anti-angiogenic PEDF factor and CD68.
METHODS: The study included four groups (early onset FGR, late onset FGR, SGA and AGA). Placental samples were obtained just after labor in all of the groups.

BACKGROUND: Lipid disorders are one of the risk factors for cardiovascular diseases. The aim of the study was to estimate the lipid profile in early childhood in the population of Polish children born small for gestational age (SGA).
MATERIALS AND METHODS: The study included 140 patients (93 SGA children and 47 controls) aged 5 to 11 years. METHODS: We analyzed all liveborn twin sets between 28 and 40 weeks' gestation from the United States 1995-1998 Multiple Matched Birth Data Set compiled by the National Center for Health Statistics. STUDY DESIGN: A cohort of 4165 neonates admitted to a university intensive care unit between 1986 and 1995.
