Geospatial analysis of land use land cover patterns and floristic diversity across urban habitats in Central Himachal Pradesh, North Western Himalaya, India.

Urban biodiversity has emerged as a major global concern due to rapid urban expansion. Accelerated urbanization in urban towns has caused loss of biodiversity, changes in land use land cover (LULC), and environmental imbalance. This study attempts to capture the ecological uniqueness of four Himalayan towns, i.e. Manali, Kullu, Mandi, and Bilaspur, through an integrated assessment of LULC and floristic diversity assessment. LULC classification was carried out using WorldView and GeoEye imagery (at 0.5 m resolution) through image segmentation and random forest classification. It was accompanied

Immune-mediated adverse events and overall survival with tremelimumab plus durvalumab and durvalumab monotherapy in unresectable HCC: HIMALAYA phase III randomized clinical trial.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: In the global phase III HIMALAYA study in unresectable HCC, STRIDE significantly improved overall survival (OS) versus sorafenib; durvalumab was noninferior to sorafenib. Immune checkpoint inhibitor studies have shown an association between the occurrence of immune-mediated adverse events (imAEs) and improved OS. We assessed potential associations between the occurrence of imAEs and OS, and temporal patterns of imAEs, in HIMALAYA. APPROACH AND RESULTS: OS in participants who did and did not experience imAEs and the frequency and timing of imAEs were assessed for STRIDE an

Rediscovery of the Lost and Critically Endangered Dehradun Stream Frog, Amolops chakrataensis.

The Dehradun Stream Frog, Amolops chakrataensis, is a Critically Endangered stream-dwelling amphibian endemic to Uttarakhand in the western Himalayas of India and the species was previously known only from a single holotype collected in 1985. Despite repeated surveys, the species remained undetected for more than four decades, raising concerns that it went extinct. Here, we report the rediscovery of A. chakrataensis from the Maneri landscape, Uttarakhand, approximately 65 km on a straight-line east of the type locality. We confirmed the species identity using an integrative taxonomic approach
