The Rural Immersion program has been created to streamline residents to less-used remote sites, and to create resident-driven curricula. The program is suggested as a possible means to increase rural retention and benefit rural communities with longitudinal care.

This paper explores the features of both nanoporous and compact TiO2 films formed by titanium anodisation in two experimental conditions, given that they have completely different morphologies and properties than those found by our previous studies. BACKGROUND: Visualization of the pancreatobiliary junction is one of the challenges faced by endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS). The water-filling technique, which allows for the observation of the ampulla at a suitable distance by injecting water into the lumen of the duodenum, was used for this purpose. However, a new gel immersion technique has recently been introduced for visualizing the gastrointestinal tract. This study investigated the effectiveness of visualizing the pancreatobiliary junction in EUS by comparing both water filling and the new gel immersion technique in identical cases.

Rats were cooled in water until attaining profound hypothermia and respiratory arrest. After removal from water, 0.5% solution of Na2EDTA was administered intravenously. This led to a drop of blood [Ca2+] by 20-30% from the baseline and promoted recovery of respiration following its arrest lasting 10.3±1.4 min. Up to now, there are only a few data available concerning the influence of bathing time on skin phototoxicity. We compared the erythemal responses of normal skin to bath PUVA with 8-methoxypsoralen (8-MOP) after 5, 10 and 20 min immersion time.
