The liberal use of upper endoscopy has led to an increased detection of gastric and duodenal polyps, which are identified in as many as 6 and 4.6% of patient examinations, respectively. Gastroduodenal polyps are a heterogeneous group of lesions that can be neoplastic or non-neoplastic (e.g. hyperplastic or heterotopical). OBJECTIVE: To investigate the diagnostic methods and reasonable treatment of Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS).
METHODS: Clinical data of six patients with PJS were reviewed.

We have managed four cases of Peutz-Jeghers syndrome (PJS) in children. Fathers of three of these patients had PJS. There was also a family history of cancer in three cases, with pancreatic cancer in a father, colonic and laryngeal cancers in a grandfather, and hepatic and gastric cancers in a grandmother. To address the role of Tpl2, a MAP3K8 that regulates innate/adaptive immunity and inflammation, in intestinal tumorigenesis, we crossed a Tpl2 KO allele into the Apc(min/+) genetic background. INTRODUCTION: Inflammatory fibroid polyps are rare benign tumors of the gastrointestinal tract with the gastric antrum being the most common site, followed by the ileum. Histogenesis is still unknown and controversial. Inflammatory fibroid polyps are one of the rare benign conditions leading to intestinal obstruction in adults.
CASE PRESENTATION: A 54-year-old Caucasian man presented with acute abdomen pain and a two month history of intermittent cramping and lower abdominal pain. Computed tomography imaging demonstrated a partial intestinal obstruction in the location of the terminal ileum.

The Peutz-Jeghers syndrome is an autosomal dominant inherited disease manifested by a combination of mucocutaneous pigmentation and gastrointestinal hamartomatous polyps that usually cause intussusception and intestinal hemorrhage. Reports on bovine colon polyps are rare. The present report demonstrates macro- and microscopically hyperplastic colon polyps of a seven-year-old German Simmental cow. Differential diagnoses (adenoma and adenocarcinoma) and aetiology are discussed. Even in cattle, intestinal polyps should be considered as a cause of intussusception.

The aim of this study was to assess the diagnostic value of ultrasonography for juvenile polyps in children and their sonographic characteristics. The gallbladder polyps are a common finding during ultrasonography but only in rare cases they may be a cancer. When a polyp is greater than 1 cm, the cholecystectomy is usually performed. In these images, a polyp of 4 cm corresponding to a collection of mucus (mucocele) is reported. This unusual polyp of the gallbladder was caused by heterotopic intestinal mucosa.
