BACKGROUND: A national survey in Taiwan has shown that Chinese herbal therapy increases the risk of chronic kidney disease. However, it is unknown whether herbal therapy will increase the risk of urological cancers. The purpose of this study was to determine whether Chinese herbalists are at higher risk for urological cancers.
METHODS: We studied all Chinese herbalists in Taiwan that were registered in the Chinese Herbalist Labor Union between 1985 and 2000. We retrospectively followed their survival status and causes of death using the National Mortality Registry Database from 1985 to 2004.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the clinical characters, diagnosis and treatment methods of placenta accreta.
METHODS: A retrospective analysis was made of 47 cases of placenta accreta admitted during May 1997 to May 2007 into Peking Union Medical College Hospital. They included 17 cases in the second trimester and 30 cases in the third.
RESULTS: Among all the patients, the incidence of placenta accreta was 0.262% (47/17 918). Most of these cases (81%, 38/47) experienced a uterine procedure. 30% (14/47) of the cases were found with placenta previa and 11% (5/47) with myoma in the current pregnancy. 11

This population based cross-sectional study was conducted on 8283 persons of all ages in five districts, selected conveniently, to assess the magnitude of ocular injuries, their causes and consequences in rural Bangladesh. Grafting is an agricultural technique used widely to increase yield, enhance stress tolerance, and improve disease resistance.
