There is a high rate of lower limb deformity and limb length discrepancy in patients with hereditary multiple exostoses (HME). The aim of this study was to evaluate the type and frequency of lower limbs axial deviation and limb length discrepancy and the type of exostoses being risk factors for theses deformities. We reviewed 18 limbs in 17 patients who underwent ankle fusion with simultaneous tibial lengthening with a magnetic internal lengthening nail. We report on two cases of congenital unilateral anterolateral bowing and focal defect of the tibia associated with ipsilateral polydactyly of the great toe. Computed tomographic examination showed an unusual partial cleft of the tibia at the site of bowing. A long follow-up of one patient showed spontaneous resolution of the bowing without progression to pseudoarthrosis. These anomalies should be considered as a new entity related to the tibial developmental field.

We describe five cases of congenital hypoplasia of the fibula and the clinical appearance of the patients. The more relevant clinical manifestation is leg length discrepancy, which is usually < 6 cm. A retrospective analysis was performed to establish the prevalence and clinical significance of limb length discrepancy in congenital talipes equinovarus. Of 536 patients with the diagnosis of congenital talipes equinovarus, 259 were unilaterally affected and 277 bilaterally affected. CHILD syndrome in a 4 6/12 years old girl with manifestation of the typical unilateral ichthyosiform erythroderma and hypoplasia of the left arm and leg after birth is reported. The symptoms are listed in a table for comparison to other publications. The moderate shortening of the mother's left arm has significance to the unclear mode of heredity. CASE: We present a proximal femoral central physeal bar secondary to femoral neck fracture management, in a 3-year-old boy. He presented with progressive femoral neck deformity and limb length discrepancy. He was managed with a novel technique of bar resection by drilling and polymethylmethacrylate interposition.
