The management of patients with pain in today's general practice has become a major concern and sometimes this pain is related to some rare causes. A male patient aged 26 years reported with pain in the lower left molar region (36) and then an intra-oral periapical radiograph (IOPA), and orthopantomograph was taken. IOPA revealed the presence of supernumerary premolar causing pressure and root resorption of 36. Also, there was missing 21 and proximal decay in 11. Eleven was treated endodontically, and then bridge was done in relation to 11, 21 and 22. Lower anterior crowding was also present.

Multiple treatment options are available to patients with impacted manibular canines in addition to a retained deciduous canine. This article describes the treatment of a prepubertal girl, aged 10 years 6 months, with a skeletal Class I, dental Class II Division 1 malocclusion, retrognathic mandible, deep overbite, proclined maxillary incisors, midline diastema, and bilateral mandibular canine impaction. The orthodontic treatment plan included extraction of the deciduous canine and forced eruption of the impacted canines. A modified lip bumper appliance was used both for forced eruption and to

Treatment of palatally impacted and transposed canines is challenging for both orthodontists and oral surgeons. To treat a maxillary canine impaction without risking damage to adjacent teeth, it is necessary to use cone-beam computed tomography for proper localization and treatment planning. In this case report, a palatally impacted canine was initially retracted distally with a microimplant inserted in the palatal slope and then was moved buccally into its ideal position. The patient's occlusion and smile esthetics were significantly improved after orthodontic treatment.

Treatment of impacted dilacerated incisors is challenging for clinicians because of the prominent position of the teeth and the abnormality of their roots. We report on 2 patients who had horizontally upward impacted and severely dilacerated maxillary central incisors. The first patient's root perforated the labial plate without significant resorption, and the second patient's root was resorbed. Both patients were treated by a surgical-orthodontic approach, and the crowns of the impacted teeth were brought into the arches by closed forced eruption. Therefore, if impacted teeth have dilacerated

The purpose of this report was to present the case of a nine-year-old patient with unilateral impaction of the permanent maxillary right first molar treated early using a simple and effective fixed appliance. The proposed intervention involved the construction of a fixed palatal arch with a soldered wire extending distally to the impacted permanent first molar. A button was bonded to the occlusal surface of the molar, which was to be used as a leverage point for engaging chain elastics to produce distal movement to disimpact and allow complete eruption of the molar. Following three months of t

INTRODUCTION: Outcome predictors for the restoration of endodontically treated teeth mainly include cavity wall integrity and the presence of a 1.5-2 mm ferrule. However, in some clinical situations, the aforementioned predictors cannot be achieved. Three different techniques have been proposed to obtain an adequate ferrule respecting the supracrestal tissue attachment: surgical crown lengthening, orthodontic forced eruption, and surgical extrusion. There are little published prospective data evaluating periodontal changes after surgical extrusion. Therefore, the aims of this study were to rep

An impacted maxillary incisor in the early mixed dentition can pose a clinical challenge for orthodontists and pediatric dentists. Clinical observations supported with a 3-D imaging technique can help not only in assessing the precise location of the impacted tooth and its relation with neighboring teeth but also in correctly executing a treatment plan. The purpose of this paper is to describe the management of a severely rotated and horizontally impacted central incisor using intrabony rotation and simultaneous orthodontically-guided eruption. Timely intervention avoided disturbance in arch i

AIM: The aim of this case report was to describe the orthodontic and periodontal management of a patient with three impacted anterior teeth.
METHODS: An 18-year-old female with Class I crowding on a Class I skeletal base presented with the chief complaint of an unaesthetic smile. Clinical examination revealed an impacted upper right permanent canine (13), lateral (12) and central incisor (11), a retained deciduous incisor and moderate crowding in the lower arch. The impacted teeth were surgically exposed (closed exposure) and aligned with fixed appliances. The 12 was extracted due to root res

Traditionally, orthodontic treatment has be involved with implant dentistry to correct malocclusion prior to surgical procedures. Most recently, orthodontics has become an invaluable adjunct to implant dentistry for treatment plans involving tooth replacement for sites diagnosed with localized advanced periodontitis. Loss of vertical bone height as a result of periodontal disease is difficult to overcome with hard tissue grafting. However, in cases where the failing or failed tooth is still present, an alternative method involving pre-implant orthodontics is being utilized to generate vertical

KEY CLINICAL MESSAGE: Impacted maxillary central incisors represent a relatively infrequent occurrence. This condition significantly impacts the patient's self-esteem and aesthetic concerns. Effective resolution is achievable through a combined strategy involving surgical exposure, bracket attachment, and subsequent orthodontic extrusion. The Surgical orthodontic approach is the optimal strategy for addressing impacted maxillary central incisors.
ABSTRACT: Central incisor is rarely impacted teeth often associated with supernumerary teeth. This case series includes three cases of central incis

The optimal treatment for intruded permanent teeth has not yet been determined. The ideal treatment option is the one with the lowest probability of developing complications such as external root resorption and marginal bone loss. Each case should be considered individually, bearing in mind the severity of the intrusion, the stage of root development, and tooth mobility. Management of an intruded permanent tooth may consist of: (1) observation for spontaneous eruption; (2) surgical crown uncovering; (3) orthodontic extrusion (with or without prior luxation of the intruded tooth); (4) and parti

Treatment of horizontally and deeply impacted mandibular molars is challenging for both orthodontists and oral surgeons because of the limited access and anchorage control. We report on two patients who had horizontally and mesially impacted mandibular second molars (MM2s). Both patients were treated by a surgical orthodontic approach, and the crowns of the impacted teeth were brought into the arches by closed forced eruption. Mesially impacted MM2s were uprighted with orthodontic microimplants, inserted in the retromolar area, and then moved into their ideal position. The first patient was in
