Pseudolymphoma of the liver associated with primary biliary cirrhosis: a case report and review of literature.

We report a case of two pseudolymphomas of the liver in a 63-year-old Japanese woman with primary biliary cirrhosis. One of the lesions was found incidentally during a medical examination, presenting as a 10 mm hypodense nodule that revealed hyperdensity in the early phase and hypodensity in the late phase in computed tomography (CT) after injection of contrast medium. Retrospectively, the 10 mm nodule had first been discovered as a 4 mm nodule during CT 4 years previously. Superparamagnetic iron oxide-enhanced MRI revealed another 4 mm hyperintense nodule in segment 6 in addition to the 10 mm

[A case of Sjögren's syndrome with an eyelid tumor, a so-termed pseudolymphoma of the iacrimal gland].

The female subject, 64 years old, subjectively noticed a mild dryness of the eyes and bilateral, submandibular swelling in 1988. The clinical symptom was mild, and such autoantibody and hyper-gammaglobulinemia as often observed in Sjögren's syndrome were not recognized. However, by judging from the results of gum test (9 mL/10 min), salivary gland scan (Grade 2) and the labial biopsy, we diagnosed the case as Sjögren's syndrome. We then administered prednisolone at 40 mg at the onset of treatment and gradually decreasing the dosage over 3.5 years, and the symptoms improved. As an eyelid tumor

Pseudolymphoma associated with calcium channel blockers: a FAERS disproportionality analysis comparing dihydropyridines and non-dihydropyridines.

Calcium channel blockers (CCBs), particularly amlodipine, are among the most widely prescribed antihypertensive agents globally. However, no comprehensive disproportionality analysis has quantified this association. This pharmacovigilance study utilized the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) to evaluate the reporting association between CCBs and pseudolymphoma. The FAERS database was parsed through its 14 104 743 adverse event reports. Five CCBs were evaluated: three dihydropyridines (amlodipine, nifedipine, and felodipine) and two non-dihydropyridines (diltiazem, verapamil). Dispropor

T-Cell-Rich Angiomatoid Polypoid Pseudolymphoma: A Case Report and Comparison With Key Differential Diagnoses.

T-cell-rich angiomatoid polypoid pseudolymphoma (TRAPP) is a rare and recently defined entity, conceptualized just over a decade ago. Recognition of TRAPP is important because it can be clinically and microscopically confused with low-grade cutaneous lymphomas and other vascular proliferations. We report a case of a 28-year-old male with a solitary 1.2 cm red polypoid papule on the middle posterior base of the neck. The histopathological examination revealed a well-circumscribed dermal nodular proliferation of banal-appearing lymphovascular spaces with plump endothelial cells. Immunohistochemi

Cutaneous pseudolymphoma following tattoo application: report of two new cases of a potential lymphoma mimicker.

The authors report 2 cases of cutaneous pseudolymphoma that occurred in 2 young adult patients who referred for relentlessly growing nodules that appeared within 4 to 5 months after the application of a mercury-based tattoo. Systemic symptoms were not present and there was no evidence of lymph node enlargement. Clinically, both lesions were limited to the red, mercury-based areas of the tattoo. Microscopic examination featured a dense cellular infiltrate composed of polytypic T cells in the upper to mid-dermis, coupled with focal interface tissue reaction. Scattered macrophages contained finel

A nodular syphilid presenting as a pseudolymphoma: mimicking a cutaneous marginal zone B-cell lymphoma.

Syphilis has been referred to as the great imitator, the great mimic, and the great masquerader. It often presents with clinical and histological findings similar to many other dermatological conditions. We report a patient presenting with nodular plaques, a rare form of secondary syphilis. The histological features revealed a pseudolymphoma mimicking a cutaneous marginal zone B-cell lymphoma. Syphilis should be considered in the differential diagnosis of a cutaneous lymphoreticular process.

[Rheumatoid polyarthritis with Gougerot-Sjögren's syndrome, pulmonary pseudolymphoma and digestive lymphoma. Apropos of a case].

The authors report a case of the Gougerot-Sjögren syndrome with rheumatoid arthritis, of particular interest because of lymphocytic proliferation. This was initially confined to the broncho-pulmonary tissues with histological appearances of pseudo-lymphoma, a diagnosis supported by clinical regression with immunosuppressive drugs, over a 5 years period. This difficult diagnosis needs histological, biochemical and clinical confirmation and, the very existence of this entity is debatable. The occurrence of a malignant lymphoma of the small intestine in the same patient a few years later is an ar

Angiomatous lymphoid hamartoma or pseudolymphoma of pelvic retroperitoneum: clinical significance and evaluation of pelvic ureter.

Angiomatous lymphoid hamartomas or pseudolymphomas have been reported most commonly within the chest and usually are mistaken for thymic tumors of lymphomatous tissue. Pelvic retroperitoneal location, to our knowledge, has been described only on three occasions. Only a high index of suspicion can make one recognize this rare lesion and save unnecessary radical surgery and/or radiation therapy. Removal of the mass led to dissappearance of associated systemic manifestations in many of the patients.

Clinical features, natural history and outcomes of pseudolymphoma of liver: A case-series and systematic review.

BACKGROUND: Pseudolymphoma is a rare, benign, nonspecific condition that forms a mass-like lesion characterized by the proliferation of non-neoplastic lymphocytes. Lacking of specific clinical symptoms, serological markers, and imaging features, the diagnosis is difficult. We reporte five cases of hepatic pseudolymphoma and provide a systematic review of existing literatures to improve our understanding of this rare liver disease. METHODS: We followed-up five cases of hepatic pseudolymphoma in West China Hospital from January 2002 to January 2022. We also summarized the cases of hepatic pseud

[Lymphomas and pseudolymphomas in the digestive system: histopathological and immunohistochemical study of 16 cases in Tucumán (Argentina)].

The authors reviewed all lymphoproliferative lesions involving the gastrointestinal tract diagnosed at the Centro de Salud Zenón J. Santillán Hospital, Department of Pathology, during the period (1963-1985). The histopathology of 16 lymphomas and pseudolymphomas have been studied, comparing the morphological and immunological findings. The lymphomas were reviewed by application of the Int. Working Formulation. The occurrence was 5 in the stomach, 3 in the small intestine, 4 in the large intestine and 2 in Waldeyer's Ring. In one necropsy case, multiple sites in the gastrointestinal tract were

Renal sinus pseudolymphoma in a patient with multiple carcinomas: a case report and a brief review of the literature.

The term pseudolymphoma refers to a heterogeneous group of benign reactive T-cell or B-cell lymphoproliferative processes of diverse causes that simulate lymphoma clinically and histologically but usually undergo spontaneous remission. Its pathogenesis is still unclear. The prognosis is good although some evidence suggests that pseudolymphoma may progress to lymphoma. Pseudolymphoma of the urinary tract is extremely rare. We herein report a case of pseudolymphoma of the renal sinus in a 70-year-old man, associated with a high grade urothelial carcinoma of the bladder and to a prostatic adenoca

Prevalence of Merkel cell polyomavirus DNA in cutaneous lymphomas, pseudolymphomas, and inflammatory skin diseases.

Several groups confirmed Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) as the likely causative agent of Merkel cell carcinoma. Hematolymphoid disorders are known to be a substantial risk factor for Merkel cell carcinoma, and vice versa. The association between MCPyV and hematologic neoplasms is poorly analyzed, as well as the speculation that lymphocytes may serve as reservoir for MCPyV. Therefore, we investigated the prevalence of MCPyV DNA in primary cutaneous T- and B-cell lymphomas, pseudolymphomas (PLs), and inflammatory skin diseases with dominant lymphocytic infiltrate. We performed a molecular path

[Sjogren's syndrome with bilateral hydronephrosis caused by pseudolymphoma of bilateral renal pelves: a case report].

We report a case of bilateral hydronephrosis caused by pseudolymphoma of bilateral renal pelves. A 52-year-old woman with Sjogren's syndrome and bronchial asthma was found to have bilateral hydronephrosis. Abdominal plain computerized tomography showed an irregular thickening of the bilateral renal pelves with moderate hydronephrosis. The gallium scintigraphy revealed intense tracer uptake in bilateral renal pelves. Open biopsy of the right renal pelvis was performed under the diagnosis of malignant lymphoma. The pathologic diagnosis was pseudolymphoma of the renal pelvis. Steroid therapy dram

Human pathogenic virus-associated pseudolymphomas and lymphomas with primary cutaneous manifestation in humans and animals.

The etiologic role of viruses in cutaneous lymphoproliferative disorders is still controversial. In benign cutaneous pseudolymphomas of the human skin, human T-cell leukemia/lymphoma virus (HTLV) type I (HTLV-I), varicella zoster virus, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), and human herpesvirus (HHV) 6 (HHV-6) are the viruses most often identified, whereas in malignant lymphoproliferation human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1), HTLV-I/II, and EBV are more common. Coinfections with more than one virus species have occurred in a number of cases. HHV-8 in association with a lymphoproliferative lesion a

Drug Reaction With Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms (DRESS Syndrome) Manifesting With Pseudolymphoma Multisystemic Organ Involvement.

Drug reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms is a rare significant cutaneous adverse reaction with associated mortality. Extensive pseudolymphomatous multiorgan manifestations with prolonged latency from nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory exposure highlight the clinical spectrum and severity. Early recognition, timely intervention, prolonged treatment, and follow-up are essential.

Cutaneous pseudolymphoma, lymphomatoid contact dermatitis type, as an unusual cause of symmetrical upper eyelid nodules.

We describe a 74-year-old woman who rapidly developed bilateral voluminous nodules on the upper eyelids, following 4 months' treatment for chalazion. Histological and immunohistochemical findings were suggestive of cutaneous pseudolymphoma (CPL), and extensive screening for malignant lymphoma (ML) remained negative. Cutaneous pseudolymphomas are inflammatory diseases that can simulate ML either clinically, histopathologically, or both. They are a rare cause of nodules of the upper eyelids, usually characterized by a benign evolution, that can be secondary to ultraviolet sensitivity, adverse re

Drug-induced pseudolymphoma and drug hypersensitivity syndrome (Drug Rash with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms: DRESS).

Since the first description by Saltzstein in 1959, the denomination of drug-induced pseudolymphoma was used to describe two cutaneous adverse drug reactions with a histological picture mimicking malignant lymphoma. On the basis of clinical presentation, this term includes two different patterns: (1) hypersensitivity syndrome which begins acutely in the first 2 months after the initiation of the drug and associates fever, a severe skin disease with characteristic infiltrated papules and facial edema or an exfoliative dermatitis, lymphadenopathy, hematologic abnormalities (hypereosinophilia, aty

Diagnostic Challenges and Treatment Options for Cutaneous T Cell Pseudolymphoma: A Case Study with Rituximab Treatment.

BACKGROUND Pseudolymphoma is a rare disorder that can mimic lymphoma both clinically and histologically. It usually affects middle-aged females. Since pseudolymphoma is a rare disorder not only is diagnosing the condition difficult, but there is also a lack of standardized treatment guidelines. In the literature, anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody rituximab is described as an effective treatment option. CASE REPORT 46-year-old female fell ill suddenly with swelling and enlargement of her chin. Multiple skin biopsies were done, which were re-evaluated multiple times as well. Each ended with a new di
