There is a growing interest in delivering videoconferencing psychotherapy (VCP) due to the enormous impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our lives since the beginning of severe restrictions worldwide in March 2020. Scientific literature has provided interesting results about the transition to remote sessions and its implications, considering different psychotherapy orientations. Less is known about whether and how VCP affects psychodynamic psychotherapeutic approaches and reports on remote work with severe and complex mental health problems such as severe personality disorders are still scarce.

The case of the head of a psychoanalytic training institute for the psychotherapeutic treatment of children and young people who committed sexual violence against patients and training candidates between 1975 and 1993 was scientifically investigated in a current, qualitative study. The results point to persistent risk potential in the context of treating patients and training psychotherapists, which still require extensive preventive efforts. In particular, power relations, institutional pragmatics and emotional entanglements must be examined.

Delayed consequences of polio virus infection are of growing interest because of the increasing incidence of new symptoms in patients who previously had poliomyelitis. We examined 121 patients with an earlier diagnosis of acute anterior poliomyelitis for features of the postpolio syndrome using the criteria of Halstead and found evidence of the syndrome in 68.07% of the patients. Meaningful management of these patients requires recognition of the clinical features of the condition and a collaborative approach involving physicians, physiotherapists, psychotherapists and social workers.

The use of the psychophysiological complex PFK-01 permits the psychoemotional status to be examined in patients who underwent replantation of a segment of the upper limb after traumatic amputation. The method makes it possible to establish what kind of the psychic stage, tension or depression, is experienced by the examined patient. PURPOSE: The purpose of this paper is to outline research which aimed to explore psychotherapists' experience of working with despair, in the UK prison setting, through a qualitative phenomenological approach. Within the forensic psychological literature, despair is considered a pathology, associated with suicide and self-harm, resulting from the prisoners histories and the coercive prison setting. In turn, therapeutic writings outline the importance of therapy in the prison setting with despair in providing coping skills, containment and learning opportunities for the prisoners involved.
