Recently, we identified a retina-specific retinol-binding protein, purpurin, as a trigger molecule in the early stage of goldfish optic nerve regeneration. Purpurin protein was secreted by photoreceptors to injured ganglion cells, at 2-5 days after optic nerve injury. An isoform of the hnRNP A1 was cloned from a cDNA library of monkey tracheobronchial epithelial (TBE) cells by differential hybridization. Even though leukemia murine models are valuable tools for new drug therapy studies, most of these models consist of immunocompromised mice, which do not exhibit immune responses.
