Root canal infection in primary teeth is polymicrobial in nature. Most resistant micro-organisms, such as E.faecalis survive in chronic infection of the root canal at the periapical area and are difficult to remove by various root canal irrigants. C.albicans has been found in chronic infections of root canals of primary teeth due to its ability to invade dentinal tubules. The multiple bacteria strains which cause endodontic infections, make it difficult to clean root canals with a single effective antibiotic. Hence Triple Antibiotic Paste (TAP) has been previously introduced, consisting of cip

INTRODUCTION: This study describes a case of eye burn induced by sodium hypochlorite used as an irrigant during root canal preparation.
METHODS: A 24-year-old female endodontist was using an operating microscope during root canal treatment, and as the root canal was irrigated, the pressure cannula burst and the irrigant (3.5% sodium hypochlorite) came into direct contact with her left eye. She immediately sought ophthalmologic emergency care for pain, redness of the cornea, burning sensation, photophobia, intraocular pressure, and blurred vision. The initial treatment consisted of washing the

BACKGROUND: Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)₂), confirmed effective in studies, is frequently used as an interappointment medicament in root canal treatment. The challenges related to removing this medication from the root canals before the filling negatively influence post-treatment success. This study aimed to evaluate and compare the efficacy of different irrigant activation devices-sonic activation (EDDY), passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI), photon-induced photoacoustic streaming (PIPS), and shockwave-enhanced emission photoacoustic streaming (SWEEPS)-in removing Ca(OH)₂ from artificial isthmuse

INTRODUCTION: Effective irrigation is essential for successful root canal treatment because mechanical instrumentation alone cannot adequately clean the complex anatomy of the root canal system. Various irrigant activation techniques have been developed to enhance irrigant penetration into the apical third and anatomically inaccessible regions; however, clinical evidence comparing their penetration efficiency remains limited. The aim of our study was to compare the depth of irrigant penetration achieved using conventional manual irrigation, passive ultrasonic irrigation, sonic irrigation, air-
