Two Gram-stain-negative, facultative anaerobic, pleomorphic rod-shaped strains, designated E16BAT and E15BD, were isolated from the nasopharynx of two different sheep exhibiting clinical signs of ovine respiratory disease at a commercial farm in Kashgar, Xinjiang, China. Domestic goats are raised for meat, milk and hair production, in herds for rangeland weed control, and as pack animals. Domestic sheep, goats and wild bighorn sheep are all susceptible to a multifactorial pneumonia.
