A significant challenge facing rare disease communities is finding a sufficient quantity and variety of data to develop and test disease-specific hypotheses. Here we describe an approach to data sharing in which stakeholders from the neurofibromatosis (NF) research community collaborated to develop a disease-focused data portal with the goal of supporting scientists within and outside the community as well as clinicians and patient advocates.

Early screening for type 1 diabetes (T1D) is receiving increasing attention as presymptomatic screening initiatives and disease-modifying therapies continue to expand. However, the perspectives of professional stakeholders, who play a pivotal role in implementation, patient engagement, and health system preparedness, have not been systematically synthesised. We conducted a systematic review to examine professional views on paediatric early T1D screening. Following PRISMA guidelines, six databases (Medline, Embase, Scopus, CINAHL, PsycINFO, ASSIA) and grey literature were searched through Janua

Indonesia and other Southeast Asian nations are experiencing rapidly aging populations. The Indonesian Government recently announced a national initiative of aged care homes to support older people not able to live independently or receive family care. Medication-without-harm is the topic of the World Health Organization Third Global Patient Safety Challenge. The objective of this study was to prioritize research questions for improving medication management in public and private aged care homes in Indonesia. In April 2025, a 20-person expert consensus panel was convened comprising general pra

INTRODUCTION: Psychosocial interventions are essential to support people living with dementia and their carers. A consensus on what is most important for research on psychosocial intervention in dementia and how intervention studies should best be conducted is currently lacking. This protocol describes the research plan aimed at achieving consensus on (i) the relevance of core elements (CEs) for the development, feasibility testing/piloting, evaluation and/or implementation phases of psychosocial interventions in dementia and (ii) methodologies (eg, design) and methods most suitable to address

BACKGROUND: This paper documents the JC A-Connect: Jockey Club Autism Support Network community education program, which was a decade-long, territory-wide, and cross-sectoral initiative in Hong Kong, China. It was created in response to the rise of students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in mainstream schools which posed challenges to support their adaptation. The program came timely as the number of autistic students doubled during the project implementation period.
PROGRAM: Unlike other initiatives that directly served the autistic individuals, this program delivered at the wider socia

Malaria in pregnancy (MiP) is a significant public health concern in high-burden malaria countries and a key predictor of high-risk pregnancies in Cameroon. One of the challenges of the National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP) in Cameroon is to generate reliable, timely, accurate and actionable data to inform decision-making, effective monitoring and planning. Discussions with the NMCP at the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) identified poor data quality, lack of clear guidelines, manual data processing at the district level and delays in feedback on data as key bottlenecks in effective implem

OBJECTIVES: As population needs continuously evolve new technologies have to find ways to address healthcare challenges. Inputs of key stakeholders are critical when adopting new technologies. Our objective was to map stakeholders along the Access and Delivery Partnership value chain framework (ADP) in relation to the RTS,S malaria vaccine introduction in Ghana.
METHODS: Stakeholders engaged with the SAVING consortium were identified and an online questionnaire distributed to map stakeholders positioning in relation to the ADP framework. A workshop was also held to validate findings and to ex

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of mortality and healthcare expenditures in the United States. It is also a major contributor to premature mortality, years lived with disability, and rising healthcare costs around the world. Despite the availability of proven therapies and interventions that could vastly decrease the burden of cardiovascular disease and cardiometabolic conditions, their implementation is poor, with generally less than half of patients being treated with the most effective therapies. Implementation science offers promise in bridging this gap and mitigating disp

OBJECTIVES: Despite early evidence of effectiveness, cost-savings, and resource optimization, mobile integrated health (MIH) programs have not been widely implemented in the United States. System, community, and organizational-level barriers often hinder evidence-based public health interventions, such as MIH programs, from being broadly adopted into real-world clinical practice. The objective of this study is to identify solutions to the barriers impeding the implementation of MIH through interviews with multilevel stakeholders.
METHODS: Using the CENTERing multi-level partner voices in Impl

INTRODUCTION: As people get older, they tend to take more preventive medication such as statins, beta-blockers and anti-coagulants to help prolong their lives. The risks of taking medication can start to outweigh the benefits in older people, and whether those with comorbidities want to extend these years of poor health is another consideration. One-third of older people will develop dementia, and they may not have the mental capacity to decide whether to continue or withdraw preventive medication. In these cases, deprescribing is left to advocates, such as healthcare professionals and family

The acceleration of urbanization has caused severe environmental problems for cities, making the implementation of sustainable urban regeneration projects an important part of urban construction. Previous studies have shown that different actions taken by various stakeholder groups at different stages of urban regeneration can affect the outcomes of urban regeneration. However, few studies have investigated the environmental impacts on the urban regeneration plots and their surroundings during the urban regeneration implementation stage under the leadership of different stakeholders. Therefore

BACKGROUND: Tuberculosis elimination requires implementation of multi-pronged, complex interventions, but there is limited understanding of frameworks for guiding implementation. Our aim was to explore the feasibility of applying multipronged package of TB elimination interventions guided using the Medical Research Council (MRC) framework.
METHODS: This study is a component of a larger quasi-experimental study aimed at demonstrating what TB elimination interventions would entail under routine TB program conditions titled Demonstrating Multipronged and Optimized Novel Strategies to Reinforce A

Non-invasive brain stimulation (NIBS) techniques such as transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) or transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) have made great progress in recent years and offer boundless potential for the neuroscientific research and treatment of disorders. However, the possible use of NIBS devices for neuro-doping and neuroenhancement in healthy individuals and the military are poorly regulated. The great potentials and diverse applications can have an impact on the future development of the technology and society. This participatory study therefore aims to summarize the

BACKGROUND: To achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, Thailand must engage in effective multi-sectoral collaboration (MSC). However, implementing MSC in Thailand presents significant challenges. Although Thailand had a 2011-2020 MSC strategic plan for the control of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) with the prime minister taking the lead, joined by many non-health ministers, not a single meeting was called over those 10 years. This paper describes the development of a new tool created to enhance MSC between health and non-health sectors in controlling NCDs in Thailand. Stake

INTRODUCTION: The Gambia, West Africa, has made recent progress on infertility, a component of sexual and reproductive health that is lagging behind others. Since 2016, there is favourable policy environment stemming from infertility research and partnership building with national stakeholders and local civil society organisations focussing on infertility. Here, we report outcomes from a participatory workshop on infertility policy implementation in The Gambia and provide insights on setting national priorities for fertility care in resource-limited settings.

INTRODUCTION: While pregnant people have been an important focus for HIV research, critical evidence gaps remain regarding prevention, co-infection, and safety and efficacy of new antiretroviral therapies in pregnancy. Such gaps can result in harm: without safety data, drugs used may carry unacceptable risks to the foetus or pregnant person; without pregnancy-specific dosing data, pregnant people face risks of both toxicity and undertreatment; and delays in gathering evidence can limit access to beneficial next-generation drugs. Despite recognition of the need, numerous barriers and ethical co

BACKGROUND: Clinical trials evaluating new regimens for multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) are typically conducted in multiple countries because global registration of new TB drugs requires evaluation in diverse populations. The complexity of multi-site trials makes implementation challenging, especially in lower-resource settings, where the burden of MDR-TB is highest. Stakeholder engagement can improve trial implementation and outcomes. Here, we describe the Mongolia site's stakeholder engagement during STREAM, a phase III clinical trial evaluating novel treatment regimens for MDR-TB.
