This work presents a fully bio-based poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/poly(butylene succinate-co-adipate) (PBSA) porous material using supercritical CO2 foaming technology to address oil spill and energy challenges. Incorporating PBSA with varying BA (butylene adipic) segment ratios reduces glass transition temperature of PLA from 67 °C to 55 °C, while cold crystallization temperature of PLA shifts from 122 °C to 103 °C. A procedure utilising the latent activating potential of the 4-(methylmercapto)phenyl ester group has been developed for the controlled, reproducible preparation of macromolecular conjugates. This ester, as part of a succinyl-bridging group, was used to couple the water-soluble, amino acid polymer, poly-(N-methylglycine) (polysarcosine), via its N-terminal secondary amine, with the nucleophilic components of the aqueous extract of a mixture of grass pollens. The products exhibit a reproducible, antigen-specific suppressive effect on the in vivo synthesis of IgE in mice.

The aim of this work was to reveal the possible effect of the drug CSA treatment in experimental trichinosis on some important tissue enzymes; alklline and acid phosphatases, succinic dehydrogenase and alpha-esterase. This study revealed that the effect of the drug was apparently evident on succinic dehydrogenase enzyme which returns back to the control.
