Congenital fibrosarcoma is a rare, soft tissue malignancy of infancy, most commonly involving the distal extremities. Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are the most common malignancy arising in Meckel's diverticula (MDs). To date, there are no large series characterizing these tumors. The National Cancer Database was queried for patients with MD NETs (n = 162) from 2004 to 2014. Patient and tumor characteristics as well as outcomes were analyzed. Carcinoids are rare tumors originating from neuroendocrine cells. A large proportion of these tumors produce serotonin and other biologically active hormones which may produce carcinoid syndrome characterized by flushing, diarrhoea and bronchospasm. Carcinoid heart disease, a rare complication of carcinoid syndrome, may itself have a great impact on life expectancy of patients with carcinoid syndrome. The authors present a case history of a patients with carcinoid heart disease and they review the symptoms, diagnosis and therapeutic options of this rare complication of carcinoid syndrome.

Tc-pertechnetate scintigraphy was performed in 81 infants and children, clinically suspected to have Meckel's diverticulum with ectopic gastric mucosa. The predominant symptom was rectal bleeding and anemia. Twenty-two patients underwent laparotomy and 12 had Meckel's diverticulum with ectopic gastric mucosa. We report in this article a new technique of surgical treatment of enterocutaneous or enterovaginal fistula after total cystectomy for three cases of bladder cancer. The surgical outcome was successful in these patients, showing good performance status after this operation. It would seem that this technique is a good indication for enteric fistulas in the bottom of the pelvic cavity, which were difficult to be managed even under the control of total parenteral nutrition.

AIM: To evaluate the characteristics of postoperative relapse, predictive factors and time to relapse after curative surgery for well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumours of the ileum, without hepatic or other distant metastases.
METHODS: Clinical data of patients entered into the Groupe d'étude des Tumeurs Endocrines database were collected and analysed retrospectively to identify factors predictive of relapse.
RESULTS: Among 100 patients followed for a median of 56.5 (range 1-290) months, 42 relapsed after a median follow-up of 57.5 (range 6-176) months, with liver lesions in 27 (64.3%).
