In order to investigate the refractive error, amblyopic frequency, and refractive change, if any, following recovery of cornea injury through surgery of epiblepharon and congenital entropion patients, we retrospectively reviewed the sex distribution, age at operation, chief complaints, preoperative and postoperative refractive errors, and best corrected visual acuity in 160 previously operated patients. BACKGROUND: As part of the second National Survey of Blindness and Low Vision in the Gambia carried out in 1996, all survey participants were examined for signs of trachoma. The findings were compared with the results of the first survey in 1986, which used the same sampling strategy.

OBJECTIVE: To describe a clinical entity of upper eyelid margin and meibomian gland inversion (MGI) sequential to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), in the absence of eyelash ptosis, trichiasis or manifest marginal entropion. We highlight its clinical features, surgical management and outcomes.

METHODS: This retrospective review included six patients with Demodex blepharitis who also exhibited corneal abnormalities, which led to suspicion of limbal stem cell deficiency in three cases.
