BACKGROUND: Sclerosing angiomatoid nodular transformation (SANT) of the spleen is a benign, vasculogenic lesion with unclear etiology. Despite increased recognition of its imaging features, the rates of imaging misinterpretation and unnecessary surgery for SANT remain high, and a possible association with benign and malignant tumors have been suggested. This study aimed to systematically analyze the clinical and imaging characteristics of SANT to improve clinician and radiologist knowledge, reduce overtreatment, and increase the awareness of potential concomitant diseases in other organs.

The clinical and pathologic features of 70 juvenile granulosa cell tumors (JGCTs) of the testis are presented. The patients were from 30 weeks gestational age to 10 years old; 60 of 67 (90%) whose ages are known to us were 6 months old or younger. A 68-year-old Caucasian man presented with gross hematuria and oral mucosal bleeding. The patient was known to have an anterior mediastinal mass, highly suspicious for thymoma, which was incidentally identified on imaging, 8 years prior. Brown tumors (also known as osteitis fibrosa cystica) are rare complications of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) and secondary hyperparathyroidism (HPT), characterized by focal bone lesions that resemble neoplasms. They are often misdiagnosed as metastatic bone disease, especially in patients with a history of malignancy. We present a case of a 60-year-old man with a history of renal cell carcinoma (RCC), and ESRD on hemodialysis (HD), who developed diffuse bone lesions on imaging with osteolytic/osteoblastic appearance concerning metastases, but on further workup was found to have brown tumors.

Hereditary hemochromatosis (HH) is an autosomal recessive bleeding disorder characterized by tissue overload of iron. Clinical systemic manifestations in HH include liver disease, cardiomyopathy, skin pigmentation, diabetes mellitus, erectile dysfunction, hypothyroidism, and arthropathy. Arthropathy with joint pain is frequently reported at diagnosis and mainly involves the metacarpophalangeal and ankle joints, and more rarely, the hip and knee. Symptoms in ankle joints are in most cases non-specific, and they can range from pain and swelling of the ankle to deformities and joint destruction.
