[Treatment of children with acute diarrheal disease. Knowledge and attitudes of the health personnel].

Diarrheal diseases are still one of the most frequent causes of death due to dehydration in children; lack of information regarding the adequate treatment of diarrhea is the main cause. The results of an inquire sent to 620 physicians and nurses were analyzed to determine the knowledge and attitudes of the health care workers that reside in different diarrheal mortality areas in Mexico. The less professional experience time was correlated with more knowledge in etiology of diarrhea. More physicians than nurses had correct answers regarding the place of diarrheal diseases in child mortality and

Impact of a one-day training session on borderline personality disorder on stigmatising attitudes and beliefs of health personnel.

BACKGROUND: Borderline personality disorder (BPD) is highly stigmatized. Stigma, including clinicians' resistance, stigmatizing attitudes, and discriminatory beliefs, could be mitigated by a better knowledge of the disorder. This study evaluates the impact of a one-day training session on stigmatization by health personnel (HP). METHODS: This two-center study prospectively included 172 HP who completed a face-to-face interactive training day embodying dialectical and destigmatizing positions. Elements of psychoeducation, emotional dysregulation model and practical tools were presented. Stigma

Implementation climate and clinic personnel attitudes in primary care towards a mental health and drug use preventive intervention for hispanic families: preliminary findings.

Despite the availability of preventive interventions to address mental health and drug use among Hispanic adolescents, few are implemented in real-world settings. Favorable attitudes towards evidence-based practices and a better implementation climate can facilitate the successful execution of interventions in real-word settings to ameliorate health disparities among Hispanic youth. The purpose of this study was to investigate how implementation climate influences attitudes toward a mental health and drug use preventive intervention for Hispanic families at the individual and clinic level. Perceived changes in health care personnel attitudes toward influenza vaccination since the COVID-19 pandemic: A Los Angeles County hospital survey.

Influenza vaccination among health care personnel has declined nationwide since the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020. We surveyed acute care hospitals within Los Angeles County to examine worker attitudes regarding influenza vaccination and the impact of COVID-19. Comparing before and during the pandemic, we found increased safety and efficacy concerns, and decreased perception of disease severity and risk of influenza, suggesting that redundancy of established COVID-19 measures and pandemic fatigue may have contributed to vaccine refusal.

The current study aims to examine disclosure-related beliefs, attitudes and needs, to create a better understanding of personnel's disclosure decision making. DESIGN: A cross-sectional questionnaire study among military personnel with and without MHI. Beliefs, attitudes and needs regarding t

Exploring Use of Digital Health Technologies, Digital Health Care Literacy, and Attitudes Toward Digital Health Among Norwegian Health Care Personnel Involved in Home-Based Pediatric Palliative Care: Cross-Sectional Study.

BACKGROUND: Digital health technologies can potentially increase the efficiency and quality of pediatric palliative care (PPC), yet their use in home-based PPC remains limited. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to explore the use of digital health technologies by Norwegian health care personnel in home-based PPC and examine the association between their digital health care literacy and their attit

Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices Regarding Metabolic Syndrome Among Ambulance Support Personnel.

Background Metabolic syndrome (MetS) is a clustering of interrelated physiological disturbances, including central adiposity, hypertension, dyslipidemia, insulin resistance, and impaired glucose regulation, that collectively amplify susceptibility to cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes mellitus. Ambulance support personnel encounter an array of occupational stressors, including prolonged shift durations, erratic meal schedules, chronic sleep deficit, and persistent work-related stress, which may heighten their predisposition to metabolic dysfunction. Despite the indispensable role of th

Modeling stigma, help-seeking attitudes, and intentions to seek behavioral healthcare in a clinical military sample.

OBJECTIVE: This study examined the relationship between public and self-stigma of seeking behavioral health services, and help-seeking attitudes and intent in a sample of active duty military personnel currently being assessed for traumatic brain injuries in a military health center. Although it has been suggested that many military personnel in need of care do not seek services due to concerns with stigma it is not fully clear what role different types of stigma play in the process. METHOD: Using previously collected data from a clinical sample of 97 military personnel, we conducted path ana
