PURPOSE: Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) is the most common thyroid-related autoimmune inflammatory disorder. Despite a surge in TED-related publications over the past five years-matching the total output of the preceding sixteen years-a systematic bibliometric analysis remains absent. This study aims to systematically map the knowledge structure, research hotspots, and future trends in TED research.
METHODS: Publications related to TED from 2004 to 2024 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database. VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and the R package "Bibliometrix" were utilized for bibliome

PURPOSE: A growing body of evidence links chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In spite of the lack of understanding of the specific cause-effect relationship between COPD and GERD, GERD has been shown to be a significant predictor of acute exacerbations of COPD. In this study, we examined the evolution of the relationship between COPD and GERD over the past decades and provided valuable insights into this topic.
METHODS: The Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) was searched since its inception until 19 August 2022 to obtain publications re

OBJECTIVE: Neuromuscular junctions, which are responsible for voluntary motor function, are the chemical synapses between motor neurons and skeletal muscle fibers. In this study, we performed a scientometric analysis that can be used to construct and visualize networks of neuromuscular junction model (NMJM) using bibliometric methods.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: A literature survey for NMJM was conducted using "TS= (neuromuscular junction model)," including literature titles, abstracts, and keywords, under the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Document production was analyzed by document cit

BACKGROUND: Ranolazine is a highly effective inhibitor of the late sodium current and has been received approval from the FDA in 2006 for the treatment of chronic angina. To date, nearly 2000 papers have been published on it. It has demonstrated therapeutic potential in various fields, but uncertainties regarding its efficacy, safety risks, and limitations in expanding indications have hindered its clinical application. Therefore, we believe that the current period is the best time to conduct bibliometric analysis to overcome existing challenges and optimize interdisciplinary strategies.

BACKGROUND: Pressure ulcers (PU) refer to local tissue ulceration and necrosis caused by long-term compression and friction brought on by tissue ischemia and hypoxia. Diabetic wounds do not easily heal, and once a pressure ulceration occurs, it is difficult to deal with. The purpose of this study was to analyze the current research status of PUs in diabetic patients.
METHODS: The Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) database was searched with terms of "Pressure Ulcer" and "Diabetes". Citespace software was used to analyze the annual distribution of the number of target documents and the di

BACKGROUND: Dry eye is a chronic ocular surface disease caused by the instability of tear film or the imbalance of the ocular surface microenvironment which can lead to a diverse range of ocular discomfort symptoms. At present, the relevant mechanism of autoimmunity and treatment of dry eye is still unclear. Due to the proliferation of research papers in this field, visual analysis of existing papers can provide reference for future research.
METHODS: The academic papers of Web of Science were searched with the topics of "autoimmunity" and "dry eye," and the countries, institutions and keywor

OBJECTIVE: Intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD) constitutes a crucial pathological foundation for spinal degenerative diseases (SDD) and stands as a primary contributor to both low back pain (LBP) and disability. The progression of IVDD is linked to structural and functional alterations in tissues, where an imbalance in the inflammatory microenvironment can induce extracellular matrix (ECM) degradation, senescence, and apoptosis. This imbalance is a key pathomechanism in the disease's development, gaining considerable attention in recent years. This study aims to conduct a bibliometric anal
