Aim: To study the role of solar elastosis in the patient's with Conjunctival Squamous Cell Neoplasia (CSCN). Materials and Methods: Paraffin embedded 30 Conjunctival Squamous Cell Neoplasia tissues were studied for the presence of solar elastosis by Verhoeff's stain. Nineteen Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC), 6 Carcinoma In Situ (CIS) and 5 Conjunctival Intraepithelial Neoplasia (CIN) specimens were included in the study. PURPOSE: To report a Serratia marcescens infection that clinically simulated a conjunctival neoplasm.
METHOD: Case report.
RESULTS: A healthy 80-year-old man without contact lenses presented with a pink-yellow conjunctival mass that resembled a solid neoplasm. Stains and cultures of material that exuded from the mass during surgery revealed S. marcescens. Histopathology disclosed an epithelial-lined cyst with macrophages containing S. marcescens.

We report a rare case of a rapidly growing and large conjunctival histoplasmosis lesion in an immunosuppressed West African woman in her 80s, affecting her only eye. BACKGROUND: Neoplasms of the conjunctiva include many different entities with a broad variety of clinical presentations. This can make a precise clinical diagnosis difficult. R0 resection is the gold standard treatment for most malignant conjunctival neoplasms, but not every benign lesions must treated by excision. In clinical practice it is important to make an accurate clinical diagnosis to enable the best possible management of conjunctival neoplasms.
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to determine the accuracy of clinical diagnosis of neoplasms of the conjunctiva.

Given the fact that infectious agents contribute to around 18% of human cancers worldwide, it would seem prudent to explore their role in neoplasms of the ocular adnexa: primary malignancies of the conjunctiva, lacrimal glands, eyelids, and orbit.
