Manifestations most commonly include fever, hypoxia, dyspnea, cough, eosinophilia, and lung changes on radiographs and CT. The aim of this study was to describe the clinical experience with daptomycin in the treatment of bacteremia. Patients with a diagnosis of catheter-related or non-catheter-related bacteremia and no other concurrent infection were identified from the Cubicin Outcomes Registry and Experience (CORE) 2004. OBJECTIVES: The CLSI recommended high-dose daptomycin (8-12 mg/kg) for treating Enterococcus faecium bloodstream infections (BSI). The current study was designed to determine the safety and efficacy of increasing the daptomycin dose for VRE BSI patients receiving ≥8 mg/kg.
