A/J and DBA/1 mice were infected with 750 third-stage larvae of Nippostrongylus brasiliensis and immunized with 1 mug dinitrophenylated N. brasiliensis extract (DNP-Nb) with 1 mg Al(OH)3 to produce high titers of anti-hapten IgG1 and IgE antibody. Partial tolerance to the production of anti-hapten IgG1 and IgE antibody could be induced by DNP-Ficoll from 5 weeks before to 1 week after the DNP-Nb immunization. BACKGROUND: Infertility being a burning issue, the male itself contributes about 40% as a cause, as evident by statistical data. However, Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) has emerged as a powerful tool in the management of infertility. Sperm preparation techniques govern the selection procedure to separate functional spermatozoa which can then be used in IUI, IVF, and ART and for cryopreservation.

Eighteen pancreata from adult mongrel dogs were used for the study of islet isolation. The pancreas was distended with collagenase in Hanks' solution. The automated screen method and Histopaque Ficoll gradients were used to isolate and purify the canine islets. In vitro, the viability of isolated islets was assessed by both histology and perifusion studies. In vivo, the islet function was evaluated by using a nude mice xenograft model. We studied the response to thymus-independent type 2 (type 2) Ag in mice suppressed from birth with anti-Ia antibody.
