A 4-year-old cow initially examined because of hindlimb lameness had a waxing and waning course of illness for 31 weeks. Signs included lameness, swelling of the affected limb, and intermittent fever, and anorexia. Radiography and bacterial culturing suggested osteomyelitis. Terminally, there was peracute anemia and dyspnea. The final diagnosis was hemangiosarcoma of the metatarsus, with metastasis to the lungs.

Report on a 66-year-old patient with a hemangiosarcoma of the scalp which is known to be the preferred site of this type of tumor. The histologically partly benign hemangioma-like appearance contradicts the progredient clinically malignant and deleterious course of the disease which could not be stopped even by immediate radical large excision of the tumorous tissue with following plastic covering.

BACKGROUND: Feline visceral hemangiosarcoma (HSA) is an uncommon tumor, and the clinical progression and outcome are rarely reported.
HYPOTHESIS: The prognosis of feline visceral HSA is poor because of severe clinical signs, anemia, and a high rate of metastasis.

A 10 year-old castrated male Domestic Short-hair cat with a history of chronic bilateral keratitis was referred for assessment of a red, elevated mass involving the left cornea. Primary cardiac sarcomas are malignant neoplasmas of mesenchymal cells. Angiosarcomas, unlike all other primary cardiac sarcomas, are typically found in the right atrium. CASE SUMMARY: A 5-year-old, male castrated cat was presented with lethargy, tachypnea, and pleural and pericardial effusion. Echocardiographic assessment revealed an irregular hyperechoic structure that occupied a large portion of the thoracic cavity, expanding from the pericardium and surrounding the heart. Postmortem evaluation, histopathology and immunohistochemistry for factor VIII-related antigen confirmed the diagnosis of pericardial and splenic hemangiosarcoma.

An antemortem diagnosis of disseminated hemangiosarcoma with extensive hepatic and splenic involvement was made in a 9-year-old cow evaluated for lethargy, weight loss, regenerative anemia, thrombocytopenia, and elevated liver enzymes. This is the first report of hemangiosarcoma in a cow with a suspected primary location of the liver and/or spleen.

A splenic hemangiosarcoma with multiple organ metastases in a pony is reported. Clinical signs included weakness and pallor. Abdominal paracentesis revealed haemorrhagic fluid. Histiocytic sarcoma (HS) and hemangiosarcoma (HSA) are uncommon and aggressive neoplasms that develop much more frequently in dogs than in cats. Breed-specific predispositions have been identified for both cancers. The development of novel diagnostics is underway and may aid in earlier diagnosis. An 8-year-old mare mule was presented with a facial mass and history of anorexia, unilateral epistaxis and purulent nasal discharge. The facial mass was encountered from the ventral to the lateral right canthus of the eye up to the facial crest. Thoracic ultrasonography showed five rounded masses.
