Eighteen cases of early mycosis fungoides were compared with 18 cases of eczematous dermatitis by multiparametric image cytometry. A minimum of 100 lymphocytes was measured in each case. A large number of measurements was acquired for each lymphocyte, characterizing nuclear DNA content, area, shape, and texture. BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to evaluate the utility of image cytometry (ICM)-DNA analysis on cytological brush specimens in improving the sensitivity and diagnostic accuracy for biliary neoplasias.
METHODS: A total of 71 patients with 89 samples of biliary tree brushing from a stenosis were included in this prospective study. Conventional cytology (CC) and DNA ploidy using ICM of the brushing were performed. Benign or malignant findings were confirmed by surgical exploration or a clinical follow-up of at least 12 months.

BACKGROUND: In several types of tumors, including hepatocellular carcinoma, prognosis could be correlated with DNA ploidy. Few studies have been performed on hepatoblastoma with contradictory results.

The distinction between the keratoacanthoma (KA) and the squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) can sometimes be difficult on the basis of histologic and clinical criteria. We compared the DNA content (DI) by cell image analysis with the karyotype and morphological phenotype of paraffin-embedded tissues from 51 spontaneous abortions. The study included 21 cases with triploid, 19 cases with diploid, and 11 cases with aneuploid (monosomic, trisomic, or mosaic) karyotype. OBJECTIVE: Evaluate the performance of different DNA image cytometry (DNA-ICM) ploidy parameters in the categorisation of DNA-ICM results and identification of high-grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia or worse (≥ CIN2).

Determination of DNA ploidy in 61 samples of primary Fallopian-tube carcinoma (FTC) by use of image cytometry is presented. Of these samples, 48 showed an aneuploid DNA content.
