[Health and justice coordination in prisons].

The question of health-justice coordination has been present since the law of 18th January 1994. Since then, professional relations between prison staff and health carers have been regularly questioned in terms of their aims. The texts structuring this interinstitutional health-justice coordination constitutes a framework which the various professionals must appropriate and implement by drawing on specific knowledge and skills. It is an invitation to work together around the same population, on their respective and different missions. The implementation of a structured therapeutic group with s

Improving collaborative inter-agency systems and practice in self-neglect: a realist review and interview study.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Self-neglect can have serious consequences for individuals' self-care, health and well-being, and requires collaboration between many practitioners, from adult social care, health, fire and rescue, environmental protection and other organisations. Yet practice reviews highlight repeated failings in working together. This National Institute for Health and Care Research-funded study aimed to identify what problems arise in interagency and interprofessional practice with self-neglect within relevant contexts, and develop realist theory describing how they might be addressed.

How an inter-organizational network hub orchestrates collective leadership to advance population health.

Inter-organizational networks are increasingly used to address complex health challenges, yet little is known about how "hub" organizations at the center of such networks cultivate relational processes that enable network effectiveness. Drawing on organizational network and collective leadership theories, we examined the relational processes that a structurally central hub organization used to influences a multi-sector network. We used in-depth qualitative methods to study a local health department that served as hub of a network of over 25 organizations establishing new behavioral health cris

Sampling method for surveying complex and multi-institutional partnerships: lessons from the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.

BACKGROUND: Complex global initiatives, like the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), have prevented millions of paralyses and improved the health status of diverse populations. Despite the logistical challenges these initiatives must overcome at several levels, scant methods exist for systematically identifying and reaching a range of actors involved in their implementation. As a result, efforts to document the lessons learned from such initiatives are often incomplete. This paper describes the development and application of the Synthesis and Translation of Research and Innovations fro

Developing industrial-governmental-academic partnerships to address micronutrient malnutrition.

Micronutrient malnutrition affects approximately 2 billion people and has a significant impact on mortality, morbidity, reproductive health, individual growth and development, and economic productivity. The World Bank has suggested that micronutrient interventions are among the most cost-effective of all health interventions. Therefore, greatly increased collaborative efforts are needed to bring about further reductions in micronutrient malnutrition. At the FAO/WHO International Conference on Nutrition, the importance of various partners in improving nutrition was recognized in the World Decla

Mapping the evolution of pediatric craniopharyngioma research: a bibliometric analysis.

PURPOSE: To use validated bibliometric methods to map the evolution of CP treatment, with a particular focus on how definitions of treatment success, surgical techniques, and pathological subtypes have shifted over time. METHODS: A Web of Science (WoS) query was designed to capture all available articles related to pediatric CPs. Articles not published in English were excluded from the cohort. The Bibliometrix R-tool, VOSviewer, and various Python packages were employed to perform bibliometric analyses. RESULTS: The WoS query identified 2608 articles, with 2348 articles meeting inclusion cri

PROBLEM: Visual impairment affects nearly 285 million people worldwide. Although there has been much progress in combating the burden of visual impairment through initiatives such as VISION 2020, barriers to progress, especially in African countries, remain high. APPROACH: The Rwandan Ministry of Health has formed partnerships with several nongovernmental organizations and has worked to integrate their efforts to prevent and treat visual impairment, including presbyopia. Criteria of effectiveness in multiple cross-sectoral interorganizational relationships.

As the popularity of interorganizational relationships (IORs) grows, the challenge of evaluating the effectiveness of achieving desired outcomes has emerged as a concern for both practitioners and academics [Atkinson, M., & Maxwell, V. Implications of COVID-19 on School Services for Children with Disabilities: Opportunities for Interagency Collaboration.

The transition to virtual and hybrid schooling given the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States has upended the education system and may be widening gaps in service disparities, particularly for children with disabilities. Schools often function as "de facto" service systems for most children with disabilities, particularly those from racially and ethnically minoritized, economically vulnerable, and bilingual populations. The impact of school closures on children with disabilities poses significant ramifications for the medical, behavioral health, and educational systems in which they are serv

Analysing collaboration among HIV agencies through combining network theory and relational coordination.

Agencies with different foci (e.g. nutrition, social, medical, housing) serve people living with HIV (PLHIV). Serving needs of PLHIV comprehensively requires a high degree of coordination among agencies which often benefits from more frequent communication. We combined Social Network theory and Relational Coordination theory to study coordination among HIV agencies in Baltimore. Social Network theory implies that actors (e.g., HIV agencies) establish linkages amongst themselves in order to access resources (e.g., information). Relational Coordination theory suggests that high quality coordinat

Changing realities in school safety and preparedness.

This paper investigates new realities in emergency preparedness and safety for schools and other educational facilities in a budgetary climate where the sector is being asked to do more with fewer resources. The paper provides a guide to overcoming issues connected with staffing levels and apathy, incorporating principles of emergency management in schools, collaboration with other agencies, communications, training and exercises, and the needs of children during emergencies in order to deliver a cohesive emergency management and safety programme.

Control and prevention of emerging zoonoses.

Emerging and re-emerging zoonoses are zoonotic diseases caused by either totally new or partially new agents or by microorganisms previously known but now occurring in places or in species where the disease was previously unknown. Zoonotic diseases account for the majority of all emerging infectious diseases. Several factors have led to the emergence of these infections, including human demographics, the industrialization of food production, globalization, international travel and commerce, land use, microbial adaptation, and changes and breakdown in public health measures. Several zoonotic ag

Global Forum on TB Vaccine Research and Development. World Health Organization, June 7-8 2001, Geneva.

The TB community now envisions a turning point in the development of improved TB vaccines for both high and low incidence countries. With a number of viable TB vaccine candidates now available for testing, the investigation of safety and immunogenicity in human clinical trials is seen as the driving force for the future development of effective vaccines for the prevention of tuberculosis.
