The study was performed on the dichloromethane (DCM), ethyl acetate (EAc) and n-butanol (Bu) fractions (F) obtained from the 80% ethanol extract of Linaria scariosa Desf. aerial parts, collected in the North Eastern region of Algeria. Remarkable total phenolic and flavonoid contents were obtained, mainly for EAcF. Nectar spurs are tubular outgrowths of perianth tissue-a key innovation that has evolved many times independently in angiosperms. These novel floral structures are tightly linked to pollination and pollinator shifts may explain their role in increasing diversification rates. During investigation of common linnet (Linaria cannabina) blood using the buffy coat method one bird with microfilariae in the blood was found. The morphometric description of adult worms corresponded to the Chandlerella sinensis. This species was found for the first time in common linnets. Pectolinarigenin is the main flavonoid compound and presents in Linaria vulgaris and Cirsium chanroenicum. In this study, RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) was applied to dissect the effect of pectolinarigenin on the transcriptome changes in the high lipid Huh-7 cells induced by oleic acid.
