BACKGROUND: Over one-quarter of the adult population in Swaziland is estimated to be HIV positive. Men's use of sexual health (SH) services has significant implications for HIV prevention. This study aimed to understand Swazi men's health-seeking behaviours in relation to SH and HIV services.

OBJECTIVE: Gender-specific integrated health services have long existed in the arena of women's health care, but men's health centers (MHCs) have only recently emerged as a novel practice model. Here, we seek to evaluate the prevalence and format of MHCs found in the leading academic medical centers in the United States.
METHODS: The US News & World Report's Top 50 Ranked Hospitals for Urology was used as our cohort. Data were gathered on the presence of MHCs and types of providers and conditions treated. An equivalent search was performed for women's health centers (WHCs).

Among 178 HIV-infected men from the San Francisco City Clinic Cohort (SFCCC), we examined the association between health insurance and use of outpatient services and treatment. For men with private insurance, we also assessed the frequency of avoiding the use of health insurance. Men without private insurance reported fewer outpatient visits than men with fee-for-service or managed-care plans. Enhanced Sexual Health Services (ESHS) have the potential to widen access to sexual health services for populations in England. A nurse-led clinic offering screening for sexual infections to men within an existing HIV outpatient service was created. A retrospective case-note review was undertaken of those having a sexual health (SH) screen between May and December 2007. A total of 125 men had an SH screen, 117 identified as men who have sex with men and 84 were asymptomatic. Six (7%) asymptomatic men had chlamydial and two (2%) had gonococcal infection. Six new diagnoses of syphilis and two of hepatitis C virus infection were made. We suggest that introducing a nurse-led clinic offering SH screening within HIV services
