Factors associated with patient satisfaction for PLIF: Patient satisfaction analysis.

INTRODUCTION: Posterior lumbar interbody fusion (PLIF) has produced satisfactory clinical outcomes; however, all previous reports have only included evaluations by surgeon-based methods. The purpose of this study was to investigate patient-based surgical outcomes and the factors associated with patient satisfaction for PLIF. METHODS: Patients who underwent PLIF for lumbar spondylolisthesis were reviewed (n=443). The average follow-up period was 8 years. Surgical outcomes were assessed using an original questionnaire, a numerical rating scale (NRS), the 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF-36)

Patient Satisfaction With Collagenase.

PURPOSE: To establish patient satisfaction after collagenase clostridium histolyticum (CCH) injection. METHODS: In a cross-sectional study, 213 patients who had been treated for Dupuytren disease with CCH were reviewed between 37 and 1421 days after injection. RESULTS: A total of 73% of the patients were very satisfied or satisfied, and 21% were dissatisfied; 75% would probably or definitely have CCH again, whereas 17% probably or definitely would not. We found that satisfaction and willingness to undergo a second treatment decreased over time and had a negative relationship with recurrence.

Patient-reported treatment satisfaction in essential tremor: levels of satisfaction and predictors of satisfaction.

BACKGROUND: Although managing symptoms is paramount for both essential tremor (ET) patients and their healthcare providers, studies of treatment satisfaction are surprisingly lacking. OBJECTIVES: We evaluated the satisfaction of patients who used a range of treatments and assessed the relation of a wide array of factors to satisfaction. METHODS: One hundred four ET participants (age = 74.5 ± 10.2 years) completed a battery of self-report items. These included demographic information, measures of tremor and clinical history, psychological state, current ET treatment, and a series of questions

Patient satisfaction and rehabilitation services.

OBJECTIVE: Despite the widespread use of patient satisfaction measures, there has been only a small amount of research and writing on the topic in rehabilitation. This article reviews selectively the large amount of literature on satisfaction in health care, examines work in rehabilitation settings, and highlights issues in patient satisfaction, given the unique circumstances of rehabilitation services. DATA SOURCES: A Medline search was made of the past 10 years using descriptors related to patient satisfaction, rehabilitation, and selected diagnostic categories. Additional sources came from

Patient satisfaction with transgender health services.

Measuring patient satisfaction (i.e., patients' subjective evaluation of health care services received) is increasingly important in assessing health care outcomes because of the current emphasis on greater partnership between providers (therapist, doctor, staff) and consumers (patients) in health care. In care of transgender persons, achieving good patient satisfaction is particularly challenging given the primary role mental health professionals play as arbiters of who has access to sex reassignment and when such candidates are ready. Dependence on a mental health professional in this "gate-

Patient satisfaction after MRCP and ERCP.

OBJECTIVE: Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is an accurate diagnostic test for detecting abnormalities of the pancreaticobiliary system. Because it is noninvasive, MRCP appears to be more tolerable than ERCP, although this has not been studied. The purpose of this study is to compare patient satisfaction after MRCP and ERCP performed sequentially. METHODS: We prospectively recruited 34 patients undergoing ERCP, for whom an MRCP was able to be performed before ERCP. Patient satisfaction was assessed by validated questionnaires using seven-point Likhert scales (individual rati
