Background Lateral epicondylitis is a common condition involving the arm. It is caused by degenerative changes or overuse of the tendon connecting the elbow joint to the forearm muscle. Plyometric and TheraBand FlexBar (Theraband, Akron, OH, USA) exercises can relieve elbow discomfort, soreness, and weakness. This study examines the effects of plyometric and TheraBand FlexBar exercises with ultrasound on tennis elbow patients. Methodology It is an experimental study comprising a total of 30 participants, including individuals of both genders with age groups of 20-40 years were selected by spec

BACKGROUND: Anterior cruciate ligament injuries occur frequently in athletics, and anterior cruciate ligament injury prevention programs may decrease injury risk. However, previous prevention programs that include plyometrics use a variety of exercises with little justification of exercise inclusion. Because gluteal and hamstring activation is thought to be important for preventing knee injuries, the purpose of this study was to determine which commonly used plyometric exercises produce the greatest activation of the gluteals and hamstrings.

BACKGROUND: Plyometric training is a widely used method to improve performance in healthy athletes. It is highly recommended in the late stage of rehabilitation of many lower limb injuries. However, its effects on muscle strength and function in management of lateral ankle sprain have not been reported. Therefore, the objective of the current study was to determine the effects of plyometric training versus resistive exercises on muscle strength and function following acute lateral ankle sprain.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty-two athletes (aged from 20 to 35 years) of both sexes with grade I or

Plyometric training has been used in several sports and fitness programs to improve jumping ability and explosive strength, both in individual and team sports. Eccentric muscle actions, such as those performed during plyometric jumps, induce muscle damage and consequently a rise in skin temperature (Tsk). Thus, the purpose of this study is to assess the response of infrared thermography measurement as an indirect marker of muscle damage after a protocol of plyometric jumps in physically active subjects. Therefore, for the aim of this study ten male subjects with no previous experience in plyom

Background and Objective: Stroke, a major contributor to long-term disability worldwide, often results in significant impairments in motor function. These impairments can include weakness, impaired balance, and decreased coordination, which can have a significant influence on one's quality of life and independence. Finding an effective protocol for rehabilitation to improve these points will decrease the impact of stroke and its coast of rehabilitation. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted to assess the effect of lower limb plyometric exercises on strength, postural control, and ris

This study examined changes in salivary testosterone and cortisol following resistance and plyometric exercise protocols in active boys. In a crossover experimental design, 26 peri-pubertal (12- to 14-year-old) soccer players performed 2 exercise trials in random order, on separate evenings, 1 week apart. Each trial included a 30 min control session followed by 30 min of either resistance or plyometric exercise. Saliva was collected at baseline, post-control (i.e., pre-exercise), and 5 and 30 min post-exercise. There were no significant differences in the baseline hormone concentrations betwee

OBJECTIVE: Previous investigations suggest that appropriate nutritional interventions may reduce delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). This study examined the effect of D-ribose supplementation on DOMS induced by plyometric exercise.
METHODS: For the purpose of inducing DOMS, 21 untrained male college students performed a lower-limb plyometric exercise session that involved 7 sets of 20 consecutive frog hops with 90-s of rest between each set. Muscle soreness was measured with a visual analogue scale 1-h before, 24-h after, and 48-h after exercise. Subjects were then randomly placed into the

Background Generalized anxiety disorder is one of the most prevalent mental disorders, characterized by excessive anxiety and worry that affect both mental and physical health. These pervasive illnesses have a crippling effect on people's everyday lives, quality of life, and wellness and are also highly linked with cardiovascular risk factors. Physical activity-based therapies have shown promising effects in treating a range of mental disorders, from psychosis to dementia. Out of many conventional therapies, aerobic exercise and plyometrics have been found to be effective in reducing anxiety l

UNLABELLED: Delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS) is a physiological response to intense eccentric exercise across endurance, resistance, and plyometric training. Although traditionally attributed primarily to structural muscle damage and inflammation, accumulating evidence indicates that DOMS is a multifactorial neurophysiological response involving complex interactions between peripheral tissue responses, inflammatory signalling, neural sensitisation, proprioceptive alterations, and central nervous system adaptations.
OBJECTIVE: This review aimed to synthesise current evidence on the neuroph
