Creating Perinatal Nursing Care Plans Using ChatGPT: A Pathway to Improve Nursing Care Plans and Reduce Documentation Burden.

BACKGROUND: Extensive time spent on documentation in electronic health records (EHRs) impedes patient care and contributes to nurse burnout. Artificial intelligence-based clinical decision support tools within the EHR, such as ChatGPT, can provide care plan recommendations to the perinatal nurse. The lack of explicit methodologies for effectively integrating ChatGPT led to our initiative to build and demonstrate our ChatGPT-4 prompt to support nurse care planning. METHODS: We employed our process model, previously tested with 22 diverse medical-surgical patient scenarios, to generate a tailor

Status Analysis of Nursing Assessment Terminology of Neurological Conditions and Its Cross-Mapping with the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF).

Patients with nervous system disorders with an accurate nursing assessment can experience an improved prognosis and promotion of health. The lack of uniform terminology limits the accuracy of nursing in China. ICF constitutes a unified and standard language can help standardize nursing assessment terms. This study show that ICF is suitable for Chinese nursing practice by using ICF Clinical Checklist and ICF-linking-rules to map the nursing assessment terminology of neurological conditions with ICF.

Nursing Theory, Terminology, and Big Data: Data-Driven Discovery of Novel Patterns in Archival Randomized Clinical Trial Data.

BACKGROUND: The growth and diversification of nursing theory, nursing terminology, and nursing data enable a convergence of theory- and data-driven discovery in the era of big data research. Existing datasets can be viewed through theoretical and terminology perspectives using visualization techniques in order to reveal new patterns and generate hypotheses. The Omaha System is a standardized terminology and metamodel that makes explicit the theoretical perspective of the nursing discipline and enables terminology-theory testing research.
