Cross-matrix multi-omics profiling identifies host-microbe interactions and diagnostic signatures in bovine subclinical mastitis.

Subclinical mastitis (SCM) is a widespread but frequently undetected condition in dairy cows, leading to reduced milk quality and compromise … tions between specific metabolites (e.g., ropinirole, arachidonic acid) and microbial genera (e.g., Succinivibrionaceae UCG-001, Alistipes) highlight the complex host-microbiome-metabolite interplay associated with SCM. These findings provide new insights into the pathophysiology of SCM and identify candidate biomarkers for early detection. The integrative multi-omic …

Modulation of gut microbiota from obese individuals by in vitro fermentation of citrus pectin in combination with Bifidobacterium longum BB-46.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of three treatments, i.e., Bifidobacterium longum BB-46 (T1), B. longum BB-46 combined with the pec … SCFAs) and ammonium ions (NH4+). Treatments T2 and T3 stimulated members of the Ruminococcaceae and Succinivibrionaceae families, which were positively correlated with an increase in butyric and acetic acids. Proteolytic bacteria were reduced by the two treatments, concurrently with a decrease in NH4+. Treatment T1 stimulated the production of butyric acid in the sim …

Mineral Phosphorus Supply in Piglets Impacts the Microbial Composition and Phytate Utilization in the Large Intestine.

A sufficient supply of phosphorus (P) to pigs in livestock farming is based on the optimal use of plant-based phytate and mineral P suppleme … ss the dietary treatments. Moreover, members of the families Veillonellaceae, Selenomonadaceae, and Succinivibrionaceae might contribute to the observed phytate degradation in animals fed a low P diet. In this sense, the targeted manipulation of the intestinal microbiota by feeding measures offers possibilities for the optimization of intestinal phytate and P utiliza …

Adherence to a Supplemented Mediterranean Diet Drives Changes in the Gut Microbiota of HIV-1-Infected Individuals.

OBJECTIVE: The health effects of a supplemented Mediterranean diet (SMD) with extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO) and nuts are well documented in non-HIV-infected individuals. We hypothesised that the benefits of an SMD could be mediated by changes in the gut microbiota, even in those with an altered intestinal microbiota such as people living with HIV. DESIGN: Individuals living with HIV (n = 102) were randomised to receive an SMD with 50 g/day of EVOO and 30 g/day of walnuts (SMD group) or continue with their regular diet (control group) for 12 weeks. METHODS: Adherence to the Mediterranean diet

Dysbiosis of fecal microbiota in cats with naturally occurring and experimentally induced Tritrichomonas foetus infection.

The protozoal pathogen Tritrichomonas foetus infects the colon of domestic cats and is a major cause of chronic colitis and diarrhea. Treatm … e of genus Dialister and Megamonas and greater abundance of the class Betaproteobacteria and family Succinivibrionaceae. We hypothesize that T. foetus promotes dysbiosis by competition for fermentable substrates used by these bacteria and that metabolic byproducts may contribute to the pathogenesis of colonic inflammation and diarrhea. Future studies are warranted fo …

Excessive Feed Sorting Is Associated With Altered Plasma Metabolism and Distinct Fermentation Responses of Pooled Rumen Microbiota in Dairy Cows.

These fermentation patterns were associated with higher relative abundances of Succinivibrionaceae UCG-002, Lachnobacterium, and Pseudobutyrivibrio. Decoding the functional landscape and resistome profile of the gut microbiome in the Pangwala tribal community of India.

BACKGROUND: The human gut microbiome consists of a complex and diverse community of commensal microorganisms and has been under extensive re … ups, with similar level of diversity among the dominant genera like Prevotella, Bifidobacterium and Succinivibrionaceae. The mycobiome was dominated by the subkingdom Dikarya (74%), while Fungi incertae sedis accounted for 23% of the total fungal species in both groups. The virome analysis showed the dominance of the Caudoviricetes class, with bacteriophages being th …

Heat stress and feeding effects on the mucosa-associated and digesta microbiome and their relationship to plasma and digesta fluid metabolites in the jejunum of dairy cows.

The intestinal microbiota plays a pivotal role in digestive processes and maintains gut health and intestinal homeostasis. These functions m … ptive responses under HS conditions comprised an increased mucosal abundance of Bifidobacteriaceae, Succinivibrionaceae UCG-001, Clostridia and Lactobacillus. In the digesta, HS has exerted effects on microbial abundance of Colidextribacter, and Lachnospiraceae UCG-008. Several correlations between plasma or intestinal metabolites and microbiota were elucidated, incl …
